    Hopefully they'll be recognized as better...that is, the left won't just let the whole "he can't win" attitude keep them at home.

    His actual chance?  Maybe a bit worse, provided Hillary does not get the nomination (and I wouldn't put that past the Dems).  That said, I'm not seeing any candidates I feel comfortable about.  And the base has their heels far more dug in than it did in 2016.  He'll just just as many popular votes as he did in 2016, maybe more.  But with Hillary (hopefully) out of the picture maybe the Dem candidates votes go up enough to take the extra states.  My fake, gut, meaningless guess: 60% chance Trump wins.

    Less than 50%, but not much less since both parties will get 60 million votes just by being on the ballot no matter who it is and it just seems like a big coin flip

    he lost the popular vote with 46% of the vote.... but won 56% of the electoral college.... that is what concerns me... he can be at 40% approval and still possibly have a path to victory....

    I have more faith in this country than to allow him to win again if he is still on the ballot in 2020.  good news is he will have to win Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania again to win and those states went Democratic in the mid-terms.  Obviously who the Democrat is will play a huge role.

    Assuming the WSJ article is correct and Cohen has a signed check from Trump while office, Maddow just laid out the scenario that I’ve always thought was most likely for forcing him out of office: an agreement for him to resign as opposed to facing a sealed indictment that would be waiting for him after he leaves office. And there is precedent for this, kind of, with Spiro Agnew.
