I’ve got 0-0 in my work square betting pool. I never win but it definitely makes the game a lot more fun. Would love a 10-0 first, 20-10 half time, 30-20 third and a 60-50 final.09/15/1998 & 09/16/1998, Mansfield, MA; 08/29/00 08/30/00, Mansfield, MA; 07/02/03, 07/03/03, Mansfield, MA; 09/28/04, 09/29/04, Boston, MA; 09/22/05, Halifax, NS; 05/24/06, 05/25/06, Boston, MA; 07/22/06, 07/23/06, Gorge, WA; 06/27/2008, Hartford; 06/28/08, 06/30/08, Mansfield; 08/18/2009, O2, London, UK; 10/30/09, 10/31/09, Philadelphia, PA; 05/15/10, Hartford, CT; 05/17/10, Boston, MA; 05/20/10, 05/21/10, NY, NY; 06/22/10, Dublin, IRE; 06/23/10, Northern Ireland; 09/03/11, 09/04/11, Alpine Valley, WI; 09/11/11, 09/12/11, Toronto, Ont; 09/14/11, Ottawa, Ont; 09/15/11, Hamilton, Ont; 07/02/2012, Prague, Czech Republic; 07/04/2012 & 07/05/2012, Berlin, Germany; 07/07/2012, Stockholm, Sweden; 09/30/2012, Missoula, MT; 07/16/2013, London, Ont; 07/19/2013, Chicago, IL; 10/15/2013 & 10/16/2013, Worcester, MA; 10/21/2013 & 10/22/2013, Philadelphia, PA; 10/25/2013, Hartford, CT; 11/29/2013, Portland, OR; 11/30/2013, Spokane, WA; 12/04/2013, Vancouver, BC; 12/06/2013, Seattle, WA; 10/03/2014, St. Louis. That would already be a $500 winner in my pool. $125 a block. Every score wins $500 including 0-0 and extra points after TD's so 6-0 & 7-0 both would get $500. Last score gets the balance.Alright, alright, alright!

May 13, 2008: Roger Goodell shows footage to media.
Though Goodell and the NFL did destroy the initial wave of footage, he at least learned from that moment. After meeting with a former Patriots video assistant named Matt Walsh — a man who claimed to have evidence of serious filming violations — Goodell determined that Walsh did not in fact possess such evidence.
And before Goodell spoke to the media in New York about his meeting, he played the footage provided by Walsh to the assembled media.

The NFL plays footage provided by Matt Walsh to the media prior to a Roger Goodell press conference in New York in 2008. (Photo by Chris Trotman/Getty Images)
And that was, according to all confirmed reports, all the NFL ever had on the Patriots. Footage of coaches standing on the sideline, giving signals. Footage that would have been legal to obtain if it had been filmed from a location “enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead.” That was the violation the Patriots committed. Filming from the sidelines, instead of a room with walls and a roof, went against what the NFL wanted to allow teams to do.

It's funny how Belichick, Brady, and the Patriots were never "cheaters" until Roger Goodell (from Buffalo area, college near Pittsburgh) became commissioner. For whatever reason, he has something out for them. Two very sad attempts now to make the organization into a case study.

I've never cared about any of these stupid "-gate" controversies. For starters, I just hate how "-gate" has been made to be a suffix for a controversy as if the Watergate scandal was about water. That's so dumb. As for delfategate and spygate, (and even bountygate with Saints), I really didn't have much of a problem with any of them. To hate on the Patriots or call them cheaters for those dumb "gates" reeks of jealousy.Poncier said:

But just because I don't think their "gates" are a big deal, many people do. And if you're going to defend them, you gotta come up with something better than suggesting it's not cheating, it's just breaking a rule. What the fuck? Lining up offsides is breaking a rule, but not cheating. Roughing the passer is breaking a rule, but not cheating. But trying to get unfair advantages by spying or tampering with equipment? That's cheating.

They didn't "spy", they just taped from the wrong area on the field, an area that had been legal up until that season. Taping the Jets sideline wasn't illegal, it was just not allowed to be done where they did it, it now had to be done from a location “enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead." (See the post a few above. Basically they changed the rule that you had to tape from someplace like the press box and not the sideline, but the Pats still taped from the sideline. SO t was a violation of a rule , as opposed to cheating which is doctoring the system somehow...there is a distinction.
Famously Bob Kraft asked Belichick in the wake of things on a scale of 1 to 100 how much advantage was there taping where they were caught, Belichick replied "1". and Kraft told him "you're a real schmuck".
They never taped any opponent practices (Sorry Marshall Faulk), its just once something gets in the media folks believe it as fact, like Chris Mortensen's tweet that "11 of 12 footballs were below allowable PSI" in the deflategate aftermath. That was not the case, and Mortensen has said he got bad info but of course never deleted the tweet claiming to not know how.
