Are many of you flying in for this? I've been wavering as to whether to make the trek from Vancouver, and can still get a relatively cheap airline ticket. However, I feel like the commercialism/hollywood production of this will detract from the main focus (i.e. making it more like an awards show than a concert). In many ways, I wish it was in Seattle with smaller names on the bill. For example, I'm not aware of any strong connection between Metallica and CC, and thus, would prefer to just have his close friends honouring his music without all the bells and whistles. I hope that I am wrong in that regard, and wish everyone going the best.

I am hoping that other special guests means some big names who couldn't fully commit when the announcement went out. As a total half ass guess, GNR comes to mind as Duff is friends with everyone in Seattle and they were playing Soundgarden covers after CC died.

Some of the special guests have already been unveiled: Mike Patton, Perry Farrell, and Josh Freese.

Flying in from Chicago. Not thrilled with so many Hollywood types being added (Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine???).  The original lineup of Ryan Adams, Metallica and Foo Fighters was intriguing as I'm a fan of all three.  This feels like it's getting more like MTV/Grammy vibe.

I have gotten through 42 years of life with 0 Adam Levine involvement and I am sad it is coming to an end.

Are we certain this isn't a very special episode of The Voice?

The new additions give us time to refill our beverages
  • Chris Stapleton will be good, the dude has a great voice, at times he definitely has a Cornell vibe.  Love pretty much everything Brandi Carlile does too.

Miley is a killer fucking singer tbh. Seeing all the vocalist additions I'm starting to think it'll just be people fronting his bands which I kinda dig. I'm all for seeing some ladies crush Cornell vox backed by Soundgarden/TOTD/Audioslave/etc... Now where's Ann Wilson?

Hollywood at its finest. Miley Cyrus? Adam Levine? Chris Stapleton? Where is Jeremy Piven? Wow. The publicists have been hard at work to get acts attached to this. I hope all that are going get the special moments, and I am sure that the event will raise a boatload of cash for charity, but this feels so wrong. WTF is the connection between Miley Cyrus and Chris?

So honestly, guys, what are the odds that Eddie comes out and performs anything during the show?

Thought it was good before (especially when I saw the EB Foundation was one of the charities).  Now with all these performers, not so sure.

Not trying to start the argument here again but from what I remember both Chris and Ed had some not so favorable things to say about Josh Homme and his actions as of late so I am wondering why he was added to this...

The EB charity that this show benefits (https://ebmrf.org/) is a different organization from the EB Research Partnership (https://www.ebresearch.org/).

Both still support a great cause.

Hmm. Surprised no one pointed this out before. Either way, should be a great show. You"d think he'd be there, but I have no idea. He might have more important surfing to attend to? I wouldn't expect him to do Hunger Strike, but you'd think he'd at least show up and do a song.

Through credible sources, Ed won’t be there.  Should be a really great evening though.

This lineup addition sucks ass.  I would have never paid to see Hannah Montana.  Oh well, at least my money went to EB.

Never heard of Miguel or Chris Stapleton, and I cant figure out what Chris Cornell song Ziggy Marley’s style would fit.
