Mike's '59 LP or Strat. Either would do the trick...

There’s an aged McCready 59 on reverb.com right now with a $7000 asking price.  One of the lowest prices I’ve seen for that guitar since they came out in 2016.  (No affiliation with the seller, just a fan of Les Pauls, and the McCready in particular)
Saw that... great friggin price! might have to look at it when I'm going through Calgary. doesn't look like the "true Historic" though.
I was stoked when they repro'd Mike's LP. its on my guitar "10 yr plan" list.

I honestly just love the show. I also love vinyl, so that's why I want it. My turntable was broken when it was released, so I bought the cd instead. Ugh.

Silly question- why is the Benny vinyl in such demand?
only 2000 (plus some promo and "friends of the band" ones) were pressed. and that was 15 years ago. Back then, the price tag was $40 for the entire box. I passed on it because of the shipping charge to canada, which probably doubled the price to a whopping $80 US.

doesn't matter. I don't have the patience to wait to sell for maximum gain. I would have let it go once it hit $150.
    Darwinspeed, all.

$40 and it sat for a couple days too I think, before selling out.

It did indeed.  I also passed on it because it was 2003 & vinyl was frickin dead.  I had my turntable packed away because I was living with roommates and had a tiny bedroom that didn't lend enough room for an audio setup.

I remember it being on sale. I bought the cd. But as the years have gone on, I see more and more people looking for it. Just never thought it was a big deal, but apparently it is!

I think it was $35.  I think I got one of the last ones.  I was so broke in university when it came out.  I had a small collection of vinyl back then.  All the PJ records, and at the end of day 2 I caved and put in my order.   It sold out short therafter.   I don't think anyone could of predicted the vinyl resurgence.

It would look sooooo nice next to my Cracker Jack..

Hell yeah it would!  Who wouldn’t want a box of cracker jacks next to a tractor on their wall?

Like many, I would honestly love to have the Benny vinyl - But mostly to satisfy the "completest"  part of me that hasn't been killed off yet.

I would spin it, but not too often, and that's not for preservations sake... mostly because like other live records I own, I can't stand flipping sides every 3-4 songs.

that's essentially the reason I didn't buy it. I don't think live records lend themselves to the vinyl approach. when you are stopping the show to flip the record, it takes away from it.

  • Benny for sure - and one day I'll buy a Podova and the 2014 Stockholm posters. Absolutely love the art work.

But Benny will stay on the I can only dream - No way I can pay the money they are currently selling for. If I did get it I would play the hell out of it.
But appreciate the comments about flipping a live record. Didn't think of that. Maybe its no so great after all......Nah, who am I kidding.

The only reason why that poster is sweet is because it is more than 20 years old.  Otheriwse it is pretty fugly
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

  • This should be attainable, no?

That’s mine too. But, if one were to come along, I can *hopefully* raise the funds. Anyone selling?? Haha
