    Machado should be a yankees before Christmas or Hal is a disgrace 

    what if Stanton opts out and they don’t sign either of these guys. Really giving up this core?!

    the way teams are being with contracts now and not giving guys over 30 long contracts. It probably won't be a good idea for Stanton to opt out. Unless he has unreal numbers.

    That’s true. But if he doesn’t that’s a very reasonable contract probably...

    you dont think the stanton out is a decent factor? Would they rather get stuck with two of them or none?

    I don't know. Around that time Judge, Sanchez, and Severino will be UFAs. Judge will be 30, Sanchez 29, and Severino 28 when they become free agents. If they don't trade Ellsbury they'll definitely buy him out in 2021. They're basically coming back with the same team. Gleyber will have an extra month. So will Judge barring any injuries. Didi will be out until maybe July best case scenario. They're still a playoff team.

    So this kinda goes to the point that the time to win is now. The core is good and cost controlled.  They can afford these guys now because of that. Judge is going to be 30+ when he hits free agency, who knows how his body will hold up.  Ellsbury is done after 2020, I think, right?  I think the second they stop collecting insurance on him though, he is released.

    I expect a good year from Gleyber, but you can't say that is the guy to take over. He's so young.

    They were willing to go to the 37-38 season for cano with a 7 year deal but won’t take a probably better player through 36 when you get his prime years
