Do you change the radio station when Pearl Jam comes on?

I do, it’s mostly the “hits” and in the middle of the song.  I also always catch the end of yellow leadbetter with Mike soloing out.....

On Sirius I change PJ radio when:
    1 Sirens is played
2 Anything from Backspacer is played
    3 Last Kiss is played
4 Usually when they play anything other than PJ (black keys, my morning jacket, etc)

  • I do if it's Crazy Mary or if I've already heard Porch three times that day. Invariably, when I switch over to Lithium, they're also playing Pearl Jam.

I can't remember the last time that I actually heard PJ on terrestrial radio.  I'd probably spill my coffee if I heard them played.
As for satellite radio....I prefer my bootlegs, where I have more control over what I'm going to hear.

Our local station tends to play music from bootlegs, so definitely not.  They are member supported, so they generally go outside of the box if they can.  Well, and one DJ is a huge fan.

  • No I normally don’t.  Especially when it’s terrestrial radio.  I tend to crank it.

This and add any of the studio versions of the hits and Lightning Bolt songs.

Ironically, tuned in to Jeremy midway tonight on the radio and jammed out. I love catching PJ on the radio, but I rarely ever hear the beginning because I'm channel surfing when I'm not streaming music through my phone.

No, but I'm pretty stoked when it's not one of the big songs off 10.  It's weird.  Before radio went the biggest of greatest hits only.   Radio stations would heavily play songs off the first 3 albums.  Some not even singles (Betterman).   With the modern era of greatest hits radio I mostly get Ten songs.  Even if it's Daughter I feel like it's a big win.   They do play Yellow Ledbetter though.   Which I always thing is cool to hear on the radio.

This. But also, radio in general is so bad - even the most over played PJ songs stand high above pretty much any other band on there.

And also, I pretty much never listen to Ten by choice so when one of those songs come on it’s a good time to get reacquainted with them.

Never. But its rare I hear anything other than Even Flow, Jeremy, Alive or Betterman (and to a lesser extent, Daughter) on the radio here.
Super stoked wen it is anything else just to know there's something else still in rotation - which is only about once a year it seems like.

How could any fan be so tired of Even Flow to get bored enough to change it for whatever Maroon 5 song is playing on the other station? Makes no sense.

    Sometimes yes, sometimes no :skull:
It's nice to occasionally hear the "hits" by surprise, not on your own terms. I tend to lean into them a  bit deeper and enjoy them in more nuanced ways when they're heard out of context.

Fascinating statement.  Lots to unpack here. If you talk like this in your everyday normal speech, I'd like to listen.  Like a really interesting professor from my college days.

I find that I hook up my phone to the tape deck and play my Spotify playlists, which spoils regular radio for me. I have a 2004 Matrix with an evil CD player & no Sirius so I do listen to regular radio in the car, if I don't hook up my phone.
