I know they have hit Chicago for 4 shows in 3 years, but a proper midwest tour would be nice next summer/fall. The west and midwest are lacking in shows since 2013/2014.
    It's a hopeless situation...

With all these folks being "done with stadium shows" my seats should be real close the next time they play Wrigley.  I'm holding you guys to your words.

I with you. They could play a fucking church and I would still be there. 3rd row if it's reserved seating!!!

Take a break from Wrigley next tour. Come back to Alpine Valley.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.
  • I will never stop going to Wrigley if they play there, but part of the fun of a tour is going somewhere new. 5 of my last 7 shows have been at Wrigley, and they have all been great experiences, but I don't want to get in a spot where all we're doing is trekking up to Wrigley every 2 years for a 3 day weekend.  Personally I'm not a fan of Alpine Valley, it's just too much work to get to/stay there. I would love a small/mid-size city tour (Ft Wayne, Evansville, Springfield, Dayton, etc.) of places that arenas that just don't get used very much. Then we could start doing studies on the true economic impact of jammers.

I love the thought of smaller markets, but I don't ever expect them to come to Evansville. While it would be a hometown show for me, the Ford Center only holds 10,000 with an end-stage setup & we only seem to attract B-grade country acts & washed up 70s/80s bands.
  • Why not Canada next year?

Someone could prove me wrong but I don't think Montreal, Winnipeg or Edmonton have had a show since '11.  And Toronto's always good for a few sellouts.

I'm not sure PJ can play smaller venues in these bigger cities now.  Could you imagine them playing 2 shows at united centre in Chicago when they've consistently sold out two stadium shows.   The demand for tickets would be overwhelming.

Maybe they'll do what the Foo Fighters do.  Mix it up.  Stadium shows for big markets and arenas for smaller ones.

If they broke their current format and announced multiple countries at once AND more than 5-10 USA cities, then maybe they could do two nights at the United Center.

More tickets on sale for more countries would lead to a lower demand for any one country's tickets.

Example...if they announced something like this all at once in February. "Here are the dates for the entire year. Tickets go on sale throughout the year. Stay tuned for more info.

    March 18 -- Southern Brazil
    March 20 -- Southern Brazil
    March 25 -- Argentina
    March 29 -- Colombia
    April 2 -- Northern Brazil
    April 3 -- Northern Brazil
    April 10 -- Mexico City
    April 10 -- Mexico City
    June 29 -- England
    June 30 -- England
    July 5 -- France
    July 7 -- Spain
    July 12 -- Italy
    July 14 -- Italy
    July 18 -- Germany
    September 2 -- Chicago
    September 3 -- Chicago
    September 15 -- Cleveland
    September 17 -- Buffalo
    September 22 -- NYC
    September 23 -- NYC
    November 5 -- LA
    November 6 -- LA
    November 14 -- Seattle
    November 15 -- Seattle

Because they'd be doing two in NYC, LA and Seattle, people who just toured all over Europe may not feel the need to go...or they give their credit cards a rest.

They can play all those dates at MSG and sell out no problem.

I prefer Arena's but if they're playing in corner of the continent and it's stadium shows, I can't see myself skipping them.   For me it's 4 hours to Vancouver, and 5-6 to Seattle.   I really can't see people skipping them when they live in the same town and barely have to travel :)

I prefer arenas too, but more than that I feel like I’m ready for something new. I’ve seen them at Wrigley and Fenway.  I’m ready for some straight up concerts without 17 guests and 8 covers.  I know that’s a first world problem and at the end of the day I’ll take whatever they give us.  This is more just me stating my preference than being critical.

I hate to always point it out, there's about sixty million people within a 4 hour drive from NYC. No other city in NA is as populated nor as centrally located among other large cities. But keep playing Fenway in the corner with its horrible sightlines obstructed views and required days off.

Even though Cali is waaaaay overdue, Pearl Jam can never play enough NYC shows.

Ok, done for now. Back to my therapy

I do not feel sorry for NYC concert-goers, whatsoever.  You get the best of the best.  For all bands.  For all sports. For entertainment of any kind, for that matter.

True, but cost of living blows so they can have it. Fighting for tickets to these types of things has to completely suck. I never have to worry about tickets in MN and we get plenty of great shows.
