Lukas Nelson (from Promise of The Real) was the musical consultant for this film, and POTR are Bradley Cooper's backing band in it.
Lukas co-wrote a lot of the songs on the soundtrack

    Party pooper.
BTW, Lukas Nelson and POTR are great.  I enjoyed them in the Neil Young movie, "Paradox".
    Party pooper?
I was just pointing out that what seems at first like another pretty pointless remake is now a little more appealing thanks to Eddie and Lukas being involved in some way
Lol, yeah, I didn't understand that party pooper comment either, haha. I think maybe Milestone must be used to defending POTR or something.
I like Lukas Nelson. I also just heard the single from the movie, with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga singing.... Well it's not my style of music, but I'd say it's objectively good.... thanks mostly to Lady Gaga, but Cooper doesn't suck.
If that's Bradley singing he does more than just doesn't suck. He might have some singing chops.

I saw the movie tonight. Bradley’s singing was pretty impressive.

There were moments he reminded me of Eddie, especially when he had the hat on.

    Good movie!

Saw the movie last night and loved it. There were a few times where I thought he reminded me of Eddie.

Saw it last night...definitely seemed like he borrowed Eddie's mannerisms but who knows.

Great movie.  I never saw the other versions...of which there are 3

I saw it last night, very good music movie.  To me the Eddie mannerisms (and his coat!) were more prevalent in Cooper's conversation scenes more than the music scenes.  Cooper also said he used Neil Young as a guitar influence for his character.  The Neil influence really shows through in Cooper's hunched stance and the way he really strangles the notes out of the guitar during a solo.

There are a few time jumps that make the movie feel a little rushed in parts but overall it was really well done.

I saw it with my wife Saturday night.  I thought it was good, but not great.

I dont know know that I really picked up on any real Ed moments in the performance other than him portraying a middle aged white dude rock star.

Saw it the other night with the wife. We both enjoyed it. The performances were great. How the hell did Bradley Cooper get such a low voice? I thought he just got song tips from Eddie not his voice??? His looks, mannerisms and voice constantly reminded me of Ed. Great job Bradley! If your going to mimic somebody, mimic the best!

Thanks for the info Dave! It all makes sense now. I think Bradley Cooper just catapulted himself to the next level. Between his directing and altering his voice to fit a part, it looks like he is not just another pretty face!

Very good movie, maybe not a great movie, but worth the watch for sure. The ending was poignant, but won't give spoilers. 1/2 interested in watching the previous incarnations, but probably never will. Respect to Lady Gaga, she was great.
It's amazing what you hear when you take time to listen.
