This time last year.......having a pre show meal and a couple of beers down the road from the Astoria.
I was just really excited.....had I known what awaited i think I would have been beside myself, that night surpassed all expectations......it was, oh yes, legendary
....it wasnt as warm as it is today.A democracy on paper, apparently well ordered, regularly subverted by irrational chaos.

I would have been singing PJ songs from a mobile phone very loudly in the queue at this point, drinking some beer and hearing how an Ozzie and an Irish went round back to have a piss and ended up chatting to the band and eating Ed's mars bar!!!2006 ░▒▓ Astoria, Dublin, Leeds, Reading, Lisbon, Paris, Verona, Athens

I'm in the 'VIP' (!) queue now.. hubby has just joined me.... I'm going nuts...0
-
Someone's just bought me a beer, and I'm getting more and more convinced that the guy who promised me his spare ticket on the message pit isn't going to show up (don't worry, it's a happy ending in about 20 minutes when I finally find him
).

Some days you wake up and sit on a park bench next to an eighty year old Russian architect, and some days you don't. I think this is my new life philosophy.

Apparently they soundchecked
Present Tense
Unemployable
Sad (had to have a bit of a repeat on this one.. lack of rehearsing for Sad!)
Marker in the Sand
Man of the Hour
Did anybody hear the soundcheck?0 -
Can't remember exact timeline, but around now was in the looooooooooooooooong queue stuck behind a prat and his mate who were chatting about their last great concert experience being Alien Ant Farm - which left me wondering whether I was queing for the right band...!!!
Their 'interesting' banter was interrupted by the arrival of Robert Plant - I had to tell them who he was :eek:0 -
