    Do tornadoes effect the sound?
Not if they cover CRAZY TRAIN!

Indiana was delayed a few years back for a tornado warning. They emptied the venue so everyone could sit in cars?

I was in the pavilion wing on Mikes side, and the hanging speakers swayed back and forth all night.

That was not a pleasurable audio experience.
you would just get waves of sound.

What will they do if it’s canceled, refund or reschedule?
My guess is refund. My hope is reschedule.

    The waiting drove me mad...

  • What will they do if it’s canceled, refund or reschedule?
I'd be floored it it was outright canceled - postponed with the 10C option to refund tickets or still attend new show date very highly likely option IF indeed they need to postpone (which I don't think they will).

The bulk of the rain is coming through between 12pm-4pm. Looks like rainfall rate drops to .02-.04”/hr after 7pm. For reference, anything less than .10”/hr is considered “light rain”.... so the rain during the show will be very light or borderline drizzle.

As always, the catch will be lightning. More often than not.. that is associated with more severe rain/weather.

I’m cautiously optimistic that conditions will be favorable for a show by 7ish tonight.

Correct - and the wind.  The very reason why this wasn't moved yesterday.

I just watched the report from channel 7 Chicago and the radar looked like a small band (pun intended) comes over at 7pm then it looked clear from 9pm and on. Again, knock on wood.

Does this mean they’ll cover RAIN again by the Beatles?
    First - Chicago, Illinois (March 10, 1994) *
    In Between - Chicago (9), East Troy (4) Champaign (1), Noblesville (1), Moline (1)
    Last - Wrigley (August 20, 2016)

This alert is for a big area.  Most models showing the hardest impact north and east of Chicago.  I think they can get this in. Heaviest rain is between 1-6 when .75 inches of rain could fall.

All the more reason to play Vitalogy tonight! Make it epic for those who have to deal with the weather.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

So is Lightning Bolt a lock to open the show tonight? Just like in Lexington 2 years ago.

Weatherbug app has it down to a 20% chance. Things are starting to look up!
  • Keeping my fingers crossed that the storm passes by! No rain!
    "A beacon on dry land"
  • Wind is a problem too. Speaker towers & men on light rigs will agree. And also setup for the show. Hard to set rigs in heavy thunderstorms during the day.

At some point that becomes a Wrigley Field decision, not PJ.

Possible tornado?  Man, what a cruddy forecast.  Feel bad for all the people traveling long distances in particular.  Fingers crossed that the storm pattern shifts.

Any mid-summer storm in Chicago has a possible tornado. Let’s hope for the best tonight.

We just watched Chicago weather and it looked promising regarding no rain at showtime. But winds could be a concern!
