    For what it’s worth the channel 9 news weather report tonight looked promising as far as future radar. Had the majority of the big rains going to the west and north.

    Hopefully you won't have a repeat like in '13.  I would guess they would make an announcement about the weather real soon though if it's bad.

    That was my thought, but the email they sent out seems to suggest otherwise.

    If the show goes on, then great. I just want it to be a great show that had rain. Not a show that was great because it rained. Does that make sense?

    A wave of showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy downpours,
    will move across the outlook area this morning into the early to
    mid afternoon.
    
    Behind this activity, additional isolated to scattered
    thunderstorms are forecast to develop this afternoon from
    northwest Illinois arcing southeast to portions of east central
    Illinois. Conditions could become favorable for a couple of these
    storms to potentially become tornadic from late this afternoon
    until around sunset. The greatest risk of severe weather is south
    and west of a line from Dixon to Joliet to Fowler Indiana.
    
    
    Detailed ForecastTodayOccasional showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. High near 78. Breezy, with an east southeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. TonightShowers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a chance of showers. Low around 68.
