Thank you, everybody, for turning me on to new websites to get my news from. As always, I agree with some, and disagree with others. But at least, this way, I'm getting fair and balanced news for once.
Anyone else want to pitch in with some of their favorite news sources?Feels Good Inc.0 -

It might be a good time to revisit this thread. I would suggest we all (me included) take more time to research an issue before declaring something we read as "fact".Let's start with places least likely to give accurate information:-FaceBook memes. The Bible of news for a huge number of people with a reliability factor of practically nil. This is news blasphemy.-Websites 90% of us have never heard of. If it's not familiar, it's probably not reliable. On the other hand, some are actually quite good if they focus on single issues like weather. realweather.org, a site not widely known, is an example of reliable, science based information regarding significant weather-related topics.-CNN/ NBC/ MSNBC/ ABC/ CBC. Viewer beware, I say! Some places I find more reliable than others:-The Guardian. A news source with a longstanding large degree of respect.-Huffington Post. Written off by some as "liberal" but Arianna Huffington is a business woman who has written a several business books so she is not just simply a social issues person and though not totally reliable, HuffPost does a fair job of covering a lot of news.-National Geographic. The world isn't just about humans and National Geo gets that.-Ten Club Forums, AMT. I once mentioned that I get some of my news here and I was severely berated for saying that. The fact is, there are often news items that I hear about here first. That doesn't mean it stops there. In fact, some items that come up here end up tying up a lot of my time doing research. I appreciate it when I learn of something here.I'm open to other suggestions!"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

I'm going to guess that the people who get their news from "Facebook memes" are the same people who believe that.....
Hillary did it
Obama did it
Bill did it
Democrats are to blame
The press is the enemy of the people
Newtown didn't happen
9/11 was a govt. plot
Jews run the worlds financial systems
Obama is coming to take your guns

Honestly, I get most of it from here and the AP and then I vet it here.
I'm lazy and the good folks on this forum do my due diligence for me lol
It's really nice being liberal, no matter how many times conservatives cry about fake news, the plain truth is that far, far less fake and false news circulates in leftist circles, even the extreme ones.
Conservatives are constantly having to fact check and can't share a meme or image without it blowing up in their face as a photoshopped lie.
The de facto head of conservatism lies dozens of times a day and it isn't even permissable to use fact checking sites as they all suffer from the liberal bias of reality.
It's tough to be a conservative and be informed.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -
