So, if this is his base why do people constantly bring up the Nazis thing?

Anybody notice the pattern?  Old white people.

The Nazi thing keeps getting brought up because he clearly wants to run things without any checks and balances (no surprise).  And the party and half the population seem to want to let him.  The attacks on the evil "MSM" (bought into by half the people), chants by these people to lock up just about every political adversary, and the constant vilification of all who dare even question him?  Hell, even this military parade. Those are early steps in the march toward authoritarianism.  The parallels to Hitler are there.  That doesn't mean it's going to look exactly like Nazi Germany.  But even from his detractors, I see a frightening lack of critical thinking; essentially that "there's nothing to worry about until we've gassed a few million people.  How can we compare ourselves to a regime that did that?"  How?  By looking at the early signs.  By the time we get to full-fledged authoritarianism, it'll be to late.  Those who don't learn from history...

We already have fully 40% of the population willing to go wherever Trump wants to take them.  This is a very dangerous time.

40%?!?  I would think it's maybe 15%.  40 is almost half the country.  No way there is that many people that are on his side.  His approval ratings show roughly 40%, is that how you come to that number?

Yes.  Nothing he has done has lowered that number.  Nothing.  That 40% does not think he can do any wrong.  That might be a critical mass (particularly in the only country with a voting system that inflates the votes of those in that 40%) to move in the direction of authoritarianism.

We were complacent that Trump would lose.  He won.  We were complacent that he'd get impeached/removed/resign. Looks unlikley.  And the left that I see?  Complacent that he'll lose.  You think 15% think he's god and will follow him to authoritarianism?  Complacent that "it can't happen here."  I think that brand of complacency is dangerous.  It's starting to happen here and the party in power is OK with it.

I never ever thought for a second that Trump would be impeached, resign, removed.  That to me is lunacy not complacency.  None of those 3 were ever going to happen and it was a pipe dream for anyone to think that.

I do agree with the complacency part on Trump losing.  I do believe it "can't happen here" and won't happen here too.

I'm paying attention more than ever and do realize that Trump is just bad for everyone.  I'm not crazy like Halifax but I will do my part and vote come next election.

I do believe that only 15% are crazy enough to round up people and fall into the authoritarianism.

Does everyone think that this modern day and age is like the book "The Wave"?

Has Team Mueller’s investigation been completed and deemed over?

Why is Team Trump Treason being impeached, “lunacy?” And why am I crazy for having stated the following in one form or another?:

I believe that Team Trump Treason violated federal law by colluding with Russia to throw the election to him by helping him and hurting Hillary and as such Team Mueller should be allowed to fully investigate the allegations and allow the trail to lead him where it may. I also believe that as a result of a thorough investigation that the evidence uncovered of accepting election help from a foreign power and violating FEC rules and laws, aiding and abetting the criminal theft of Hillary’s and the DNC’s emails before it happened and encouraging it and then covering it up and obstructing justice are impeachable offenses. The evidence will be so overwhelming and the related charges, conspiracy to defraud the US electorate with assistance and coordination with the RNC and NRA, money laundering, tax evasion will leave the House no option but to hear the charges and hold impeachment hearings, regardless of who holds the House.

If upon impeachment hearings in the House, the case moves to the senate for trail, and despite the overwhelming evidence of the aforementioned crimes being presented, they vote to acquit? I can live with that. But again, I believe the evidence to be overwhelming and either Team Trump Treason resigns, or he’s removed from office. Why is that crazy?

When you’ve been around political corruption and have followed all of the major corruption scandals closely over the last 30 to 40 years, studied Watergate in college and still read up on it today, you see the parallels and the commonality because they all boil down to the same thing, power, money and greed. Time will tell with Team Trump Treason and my money is on bigger than Watergate, much, much bigger and as such, impeachment, resignation or conviction and removal from office.

I agree with the bold but I still think impeachment/resignation is a long-shot.  Is you belief "crazy?" (not my word), no.  But I think it underestimates just how in deep we are. The party's (and there really is only one party that matters) so dug in on protecting him and serving their base (almost all of which supports TTT), that they'll protect Trump without a second thought to the impact on the Republic, the optics, or their own places in history.  That's why I disagree with the first line that I italicized.  I guess it's essentially the reason I disagree with the second line.  Party First.  Trump First.

Again, I agree with much of your bottom paragraph.  But there was no internet in the 1970s.  There was no Fox News.  I don't even think there was right-wing AM radio.  I think that's a key difference.  Nixon supporters had a much more difficult time finding media that would follow their narrative.  Now, after all of the evidence of shadyness, all of the Twitter rants, all of the praise to despots, he's lost no support.  I believe that if Mueller uncovers very firm evidence,  up to and including a video of the conversation, that Trump told Putin he'd do his bidding, the GOP would still protect him in order to keep their base (which would not decrease even a little) and Trump would finish out his term.  Maybe even be re-elected (probably given continued meddling).

What do you mean by "pass?" Did they break the law somehow? It was internal party politics. Bernie isn't even a democrat. The party, DNC owed no allegience to him. He got crushed by the party machine and that shit happens all the time within both parties at a micro level. Get involved in local politics if you want to see it for yourself.

I have to ask this.  The DNC and Hillary get a pass on what they did to Bernie?  The reason I ask is because I am pissed at what happened there.

I apologize for the whataboutism but I was curious about your stance on that.

they got more votes. bernie lost. get over it already

and no Trump didn't get more votes

What do you mean by "pass?" Did they break the law somehow? It was internal party politics. Bernie isn't even a democrat. The party, DNC owed no allegience to him. He got crushed by the party machine and that shit happens all the time within both parties at a micro level. Get involved in local politics if you want to see it for yourself. Please explain what you mean by "get a pass."
A lot of people make that mistake with the "rigged primary."  They think that the people have a the same right to have the primary vote count be a certain way as they do with actual elections.  The party is not a public entity.

I don't love the way that primary went and I think they need to re-think their process.  But it was no more illegal than me starting my own party and declaring myself the candidate.

You have to wonder if tRump ever walks out thinking that there will be beautiful women cheering for him....yet this is what he sees
So, if this is his base why do people constantly bring up the Nazis thing?

Anybody notice the pattern?  Old white people.
I don't think these people would have any issues with rounding up Hispanics, blacks, (insert any other non-whites) and exterminating them....ala Nazi
