More reason to open Missoula with Even Flow!0

Should be a designated historial site. The city missed the boat on that one. Look at NOLA. The old music venues are mostly safe0

I'm not surprised the developers are from Vancouver. Vancouver developers generally lack souls.

Really pissed off about this. The Showbox is an institution. I've seen hundreds of shows there, and it is my favorite venue downtown. Saw both PJ Riot Act tour warmup shows there. Crazy energy, and amazing history. Would be a big loss for Seattle. I hope there's some way to get it designated as an historical site, and give the finger to the developers and to the city for allowing it's demolition. But I guess we have to make room for more Tech Bros in their high-rise, expensive apartments and condos."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080

Glad I at least got to step foot in that building.

Super bummed about this. Lived in Seattle for about 12 years and seen hundreds of shows there. Seeing Pearl Jam there is certainly a highlight. I remember seeing Sonic Youth there and bumping into Ed in the crowd. I was having a cigarette at the time when you could still smoke indoors and Ed bumming a smoke off of me. Lol. I do miss the NW but the city of Seattle really needs to check itself... allowing developers to change the entire face of the city. It just makes no sense to me that a city as “aware” of its identity like Seattle won’t recognize sites like this. Music is a major part of it’s history, no different than NOLA or Memphis. Why they’re not holding onto that puzzles me as an outsider.0

This is complete bullshit. The Showbox needs to be saved. Wish PJ would just buy the damn thing. Change the homeshows to raise money to save the Showbox, or at least some of the money. Would rather see my money go towards saving a Seattle treasure.0
