lets put this to rest...  usually 1 of 2 things happen
1) they will make you tap your ticket to show other sidevto see that it’s live
2) the QC code switches Intermittently so only the live code will work when scanned.

Not advocating screenshots. But looking at my Seattle tickets now...........I think # 1 is possible. I've never been asked to do this with mobile tix.
I don't see how #2 is possible technically. There isn't a connection between ticketmaster and apple wallet.

If the digital ticket had something that would differentiate it from a screenshot, like a moving image, it would be a different story. Nothing I can see now says to me it wouldn't work.

getting in at the gate, I agree.  Don't see how they can enforce this (the ushers at each section) getting to your seats.

#2 is not technically even possible with Apple Wallet.

#1 would be FAR too time consuming to expect from standard ballpark ushers... would create huge delays getting in the venue for a variety of common sense reasons.

#1 is not that time consuming. Show your ticket, hit the button, if flips ticket, you’re in.

As someone who flies a LOT and uses Apple wallet for all my tickets... it’s easier in theory than practice. I can’t tell you how many times lines are held up due to folks having the wrong ticket up, accidentally scrolling or exiting the screen, etc. At least once or twice per boarding is someone wrestling with their phone to scan.

And that’s for 75-100 people with more than half using paper tickets. Now imagine 20-30,000 using digital tickets. I guarantee you 5-10% of the folks will have screen grabs of tickets (that’s how I usually share my GFs boarding passes with her as she’s not a fan of Apple Wallet).

They will now be told they have to close the photos app and open wallet, scrook to the ticket and rescan? You’re talking about thousands of people causing significant delays. What if their other ticket buddy went in early (for merch or something) and they only have a capture... Do they not get in?

IF the band clearly announces that they are Wallet tickets only and screen captures will NOT be honored. Otherwise, I’m willing to wager and take anyone’s money who believes otherwise. ;)

I’m just going off of what I was told via email. 1) screen shots will not be honored 2) the reason the ticket is two-sided is for entry validation 3) anyone with technical difficulties can secure paper tickets at the customer service booths with a proper ID.

I guess we’ll see!  I’m not worried about anything at all. Going to be great shows!

What do you mean by two sided? I've got Seattle tickets. Are the Fenway and Wrigley ones different? Once in the wallet there isn't a second side. Not seeing that on the TM/tenclub site either.

*nevermind I see what you are referring to. I'll take the bet that they won't have you show anything but the barcode

I went to a Bruce show 8 yrs ago at the IZOD with Credit Card entry. Swiped the card and the scanner printed out two little ticket stubs with info.

Just look at the time on the phone. If it says 9:00 AM and the person is entering at 7:00 PM, it's probably a screenshot.

This is my apprehension. I was there for this debacle. We got lucky and got in early despite arriving late- we got swept into a chunk of line that was actually headed in the right direction.

    It was chaos.

I saw Neil Young last week in Boston and used the same process.  Worked well for a theater show but I Imagine it would be difficult in a ballpark.

give me back the old line up and buy a ticket. all this stuff drives me crazy.i think this stuff turns off some regular concert goers. go after the bots they are the real problem.

I'm of this opinion as well.

I understand the intent, but I still would prefer a more traditional method of ticket distribution until such a time comes where 'the problems' can effectively be dealt with.

I don't want to watch youtube videos explaining how to get my tickets and proceed through some weird steps (forgot password? etc.).

I did chili peppers once where they scanned your cc used to buy the tickets and printed out stubs.

Entry for a full arena seemed to go smooth.  Only issue was, i was with 4 people and 2 wanted to hang for a few drinx, while 2 of us wanted to go in.  All need to enter at once

Went to Iron Maiden show a couple of years ago in Ft. Lauderdale with credit card entry and it was a total disaster. The venue had a problem with the scanners and was late letting fans enter and once gates opened it took forever. Fans were stuck outside in the pouring rain while this all went down. Once we got past security we had to search to find someone with one of the few working scanners. Finally got to our seats just before Maiden came on stage. Missed chance for show specific merch and the opening act plus we were soaking wet.
