I bring it up because Maxine gets hammered and the repubes get a pass. It happens over and over again. Who the hell is Jello? Never heard of him. Alex Jones is more well known than his ratings. Info wars is well known. Sandy Hook made sure of that. And no, the sky is not falling but we’re in a very dark period where the normalization of hate is beginning to be okay.tempo_n_groove said:
I hate defending this but you make it sound like the sky is falling. How is Trump linked to infowars and Jones? It's like the democrats yelling at Jello Biafra to "stand down" for whatever he said at his last Spoken Word concert. No one knows that it is happening and if it is it's a blip that they aren't worried about. You can't go attacking and condemning everything everyone says.Halifax2TheMax said:
His rhetoric is way more inflammatory than anything Maxine Waters has said and yet Alex Jones gets a pass? I don’t care how small his audience is. The repubes should be shouting him down, explaining to their audience that threats of violence are never acceptable. Yet, silence from the repubes. Silence = complicity. Team Trump Treason could have lowered the flag for the journalists as a way to soothe tensions but he is compassionless.tempo_n_groove said:
Alex Jones speaks to a very small demographic and preaches to his choir so whom is breaking ranks from that? What republicans have endorsed him? Any?!? His info wars show was ranked 1008th in the US. Not sure how many viewers/followers that is but I'm sure it isn't much.Halifax2TheMax said:
I think they do nor does the liberal or dem mouth pieces voice support or espouse their ideals. Can’t say the same of the other side. Where is the condemnation of Alex Jones from Team Trump Treason or any “responsible” member of the repubes? Their silence is endorsement. And again, we should be worried about Maxine Waters?vaggar99 said:i thinks it wise for the Left to distance themselves from Antifa
Everyone should condemn him though. He is almost yelling "fire" in a crowded room. Almost...
Maxine got hammered because she is a congresswoman and it became front page news. Alex Jones is not front page news. He is page 6 material at best and an entertainer not someone in political office. Google Alex Jones and only non reputable news sources are carrying the Civil War story, why? Because it's a damn joke.
The flag lowering he should have done. That I agree with. Unfortunately it's just another thing to focus on Trump which shouldn't be happening. I'd like to focus on bigger issues. We know he is compassionless.
I'm very upset that you know not who Jello is... He is the former lead singer of the Dead Kennedys. It was a popular punk group. Mr Biafra is very intelligent but very left, like way left. I like him because he makes me think. Check out one of his Spoken Word albums.0 -
FWIW, Trump has appeared on Alex Jones's show, and he reportedly called Jones to thank him for his help in winning the election. Also, very much to the chagrin of John Kelly, Trump and Jones are reportedly still quite chummy and communicate on a regular basis.Halifax2TheMax said:

If all these reports are true -- and they are from what I consider to be reputable journalists (having been one myself, I feel qualified to make that judgment) and publications -- then this Page Six (not a reputable news source, btw; great headlines, though!) douchemuncher actually influences executive policy. We have to pay attention to what he says because the leader of the free world almost certainly does.Post edited by dankind onI SAW PEARL JAM0 -

This is a good point to remember. I know this guy who voted for Trump, not as a protest vote, but because he really thought Trump was the best choice in 2016. I shake my head every time I think about it. I'm baffled by him voting for Trump. But if you take away the subject of politics, here is a damn fine fellow, someone who would give the shirt off his back to help a friend, or even a stranger. He is generous, has a great sense of humor, loves the outdoors and solitude in nature and has served his community well as a wild lands firefighter. Other than what I find to be his weird quirk of voting very right wing, there is absolutely nothing I would fault this man for.vaggar99 said:
ah.....Well, California is funny like that. I used to live in San Diego and worked in the defense industry where I'd say it's 80% conservative. I grew up in TX and went to college at Texas A&M which is one of the most conservative schools in the country. Basically, I've been around these folks much more than my own kind. All I can say is that I know them, but I will never understand them.brianlux said:vaggar99 said:
you must live in a blue state.brianlux said:Americans. We love war, we love to talk about war, we love to speculate about war. But how many of us really have any interest in being involved in a civil war? To anyone who says they think this is going to happen, I would have to say, "Come on, are you kidding? How many people do you know who want to be involved in a civil war in their own home town?" Damn few. This is just more sensationalist fodder and nonsense to plaster on the internet.Actually, I live in the red spectrum of a rainbow colored state.El Dorado County (or, as I sometimes refer to it, Helldorado County) is the second most conservative state in California. All of our representatives are highly conservative. We have more ROATS (ridiculously over-sized American Trucks), many with big American flags flying from their antennas or the the bed, and more Trump bumper stickers, and more greedy developers and more Republicans than you can shake a stick at. What a hoot, huh?
I also lived in Ocean Beach which is supposedly 99% liberal, but I found most people there completely clueless in terms of world affairs.
Bottom line, the world is a funny place. There really are good people on both sides. My problem with the Right rests mostly in the loudmouth types who stoke fear and anger in the otherwise rational minded ones.

Trump loves Alex Jones and gave infowars a White House press corps pass. The right loves Alex Jones and is just more proof of their idiocy and complicity.Even though the government is making gay frogs.0
