Can I ask what type of $$$$ that a first rate frame job is costing these days particularly for a larger poster. U2/PJ Honolulu (poster is 36" * 20")  2-3 matts, museum glass etc.
    Thanks in advance

Even with the so called 50% discounts offered by the big stores, you're probably still looking at $500.  3 mats and museum glass adds up.  Also if you are using textured, or high end mats that makes a difference.  Now you can save yourself $50 or more if you just let them measure but mount the print yourself, which is super easy.  Plus then you don't lose control of your print.

Thanks very much for the information. I'm in Canada so that's likely to add a few bucks. I'd like to mount one myself someday but I'd rather it be one of my less valuable posters. Hinge(wet) mounting was also mentioned at the shop I visited.

The prices i deal with for 18x24......

AmericanFrame —wood frame, uv glass, two acidfree mattes, acidfree board. $145

HobbyLobby. —- same stuff as above. $90.  I only trust one guy there so i always have to contact him first.

I know its a big price difference but AF has its advantages when it comes to frames because Hobby Lobby/Michaels/etc will only have a few styles.  So if i know a print needs a certain frame i’ll go with AF.  Its worth the money if its going on your wall.

I'd like to try AF for the pain in the ass 12x36's.  My mat cutter won't handle those and the frames in the store don't allow for a mat.  My worry is the color of the mats.  Have you found that the they are true to the image?  Can you trust your decisions?

Our Fenway one has triple matts (turf, silver, and white) with museum glass. We did it at Michaels with a 70% off coupon and it costs us about 300$? Maybe a little less? The Tampa is triple matted as well, but not museum glass, and was 230$ or 250$?

I will admit to you that I patch and paint every few times I re-hang our poster wall.  I have mismeasured or moved screw holes behind a few things.  Happens to everyone!

Right but isn't that 22x28 or so? When you get to 40x 24 like he needs,  the prices shoot up. The frames are custom and the mats are oversized.  Choices in colors get limited too.  My Miami sperry was expensive as hell.

True, but we had custom matts with the cut outs for set lists and tickets which meant a large frame. Definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without the coupon as it was 300$ after the 70% off coupon. But yeah, I would expect probably in the 400-500$ for an even bigger poster

I'm in Canada to and I take to local framer here and for basic 18x24 it costs on average $250-$300 and that's double matte and museum glass. No special frame or matte

I usually like their prints more than PJ. Their "go to" of Methane is better than Ames imo.

I’ve always hung my prints in the basement entertainment room. Recently about a month ago I moved them all to one large art wall. Today I noticed that some of my mats have warped within the frame and poster has also buckled. I took them all down as I think it might be due to hanging on an outer foundation wall. The basement is always much cooler than the house.

anyone have any similar issues and or solutions? Wondering if they will all need to be re-matted too.

How long were they there?  Mine are hanging on my third floor entertainment area.  It gets warm up there on summer days, but never over probably 82 or so.  I have insulation between the drywall and outer wall so probably a different situation than a basement.
