    Dead serious.
This was on the other day and both the wife and I were singing all of the words.
I asked her is she liked the song and she said 'Not Really'
One of those ear worms from back in the day.

If she knows and sings all the words, then she likes it. Tell her I said to stop being such a fucking music snob. I'm addressing a Toto record to Mrs. F Me soon. Weezer's cover is pretty good, too.

Has "Africa" by Toto been mentioned in this thread yet?

    It's a good song.

Not sure if you meant Walls - Circus or Walls (No. 3), so I added both. :)

Also...'all the words' was hyperbole.  We were singing the words to the chorus.
If pressed, she likes pretty much everything except metal.  She just doesn't 'especially' like Toto/Africa.

"As sure as Kilamanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti"
Quite possibly the dumbest yet most awesome lyric ever.

Lyrically, the entire song makes no sense. But almost everyone alive in 1982 knows all the words to it.

    Cocaine's a helluva drug.

Sometimes being catchy as hell is all a song needs to be great, lol.

Beck is a great example of this.  Just put a bunch of words together that make no fucking sense whatsoever, but put an awesome beat behind it.  I can write a Beck song, it's just nonsense:

Pink phone junkie with a gravity head
Purple monkey sleeps in a cartoon shed
The nose knows better than retractable pens
Dirt job trucker hat and broken lens

I believe they are the same song with different arrangements. You can't have too much Tom Petty IMO.  =)
