congrats bud! I've always wanted to visit Austin and when I do I'll make it point to head to your restaurant.  You thinking you'll be open by July 4th?

Cool beans- well I’ll be on vacation in cape cod for that week so nope- plans are to open mid to late August for when everyone gets back to town in the fall.  Austin is quiet in the summer.  It’s also so hot your skin melts so most people get out those months.  It all depends on building permits but I don’t want to open then, I want to do the construction then and open in the fall.  There’s so much construction going on in Austin that the permits can take 6 months if you’re doing something big- luckily we’re not.

Have you decided on a name yet?
Nah not completely, leaning towards GG’s Pizza Pub and underneath Pub Pies & Pints

also a few others but I want to keep it simple.  Both my daughters have G names so that’s why the double G.

Were almoat dobe with architecture drawings and permits and stuff so we’re moving along albeit at a slow pace
No offense meant, just a little constructive criticism....

GG's Pizza Pub- Pub Pies and Pints is wayyyyyyy too busy for a sign, especially if you're trying to keep it simple.  I think you need simple but interesting/unique.  GG's Pizza Pub sounds a little TOO "ma and pa".... plus, you're explaining the concept below the name anyways, don't need to fully do it in the name.

I like Pizzalogy or if Pete is your name like some suggested, "Pete's a Pie" is simply too perfect and needs to be done haha

I personally do not think Pete's a Pie is a good choice.  (We are just sharing opinions to help a guy out, right? :) )

I get that it is a play on words...but I also think it is kind of dumb.

    You are a pie?
Is there such a thing as 'a Pie'?

No bullshit, if I walked down the street in 50 cities and knew nothing about the places and there were pizza joints on opposite sides of the street I would pick the place opposite Pete's a Pie every single time.

    Because of the name.

(I guess that there could be exceptions so every single time is an exaggeration.  So long as the other place didnt look fucked up or that it wasn't called 'We shit on your pie' or 'Lou Malnati's' I would go there.)

And....there is a place in IL where someone already got cute with their name.  Too funny.
(I would still eat at the Peking Express next door, even if I felt like pizza)

I would even eat at FATT bastard, the place to the right.

(Not at Subway, though.  Need to draw the line somewhere!)

The State!  I love Ken Marino.  Dude kills me.
You could name your pizza place after something from Party Down.  Miss that show.

It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.
