Dammit, I really want at least one other person to actually like it with me, lol. This is getting uncomfortable.
I already said I liked i a couple of pages back.
Oh, so you did! Sorry, I didn't even see your second line - I think I was distracted by your first one, lol. Because I remember thinking about how much I hate when a pre-order arrives after the release date.
Well, it's just you and me buddy! ;) .... No, but really, I'm actually relieved to see some 4 and 5 star responses up there. Phew. I was starting to worry about JW's ego, har har har.
BTW, whoever posted about the last song being by Al Capone - thanks for that info. I hadn't heard about that. That's very cool, and actually really changes that song completely for me (for the better).

Are we talking about Boarding House Reach? This album gets better and better after each listen. I don't need JW White Stripes, Dead Weather sound all the time. This album has some Santana, 70's grooves, etc vibe. There's some great sounds happening on this album...

I doubt that those who don't like it need WS and DW all the time to dislike this album, but in any case, I'm pleased to see another person giving it the thumbs up. :plus_one:

Correct, that's why I said "I don't"  I was speaking for myself, not others.

Hey are the (2) 7" 45's inside the actual 12"?  I haven't opened the actual 12" yet, but definitely don't have teh 45's packed separately.

I haven't even opened mine. I don't even want to.

Its pretty sad when the best thing about this vault is the 45 adaptor.

i'd rather hear my three nine year olds practice the recorder than listen to this record again.

The more important question is, what kind of ipa were you drinking?

VERY experimental. Listening to the vinyl as I type. I guess my initial disappointment was that it DID NOT sound like what I had to come to expect from a JW album (Blunderbuss or Lazaretto). Becoming better the more I listen, cause my preconceptions are now gone. I am definitely going to give it more listens, because I respect JW and his artistry. This may be his "Bitches Brew", but we have to wait and see about that.

I like the inscription on the album, very fitting lol:
"if you don't like this" (side A)
"I don't know what to tell you" (side B )

Funny shit there Mr. Jack White lol.

Listened 2x now and it isn’t all terrible. About half of it is decent, but certainly none of it is his best work. The other half just isn’t for me, and I personally think its awful. Probably give it scattered listens in the future, but I’m glad I didn’t get the vinyl.

However, my digital copy has surface noise, is the digital pulled from the vinyl? I know Foo Fighters and Mumford has done this in the past. Just curious.

love this album. It is not for the masses whatsoever, as well commands a few listens.
I wish more artists took departures like this...especially Pearl Jam

Got around to listening to this today. Not sure I understand some of the hate for it. It's different, but not terrible.  With that said, I didn't buy a copy of it.

Might have been all of the preparation I had from reading forum comments but I gave it a listen last night and found a lot of it was enjoyable, some of it might need a few more listens (or might just never do anything for me) and it was pretty much all weird. I found myself moving to the grooves a couple of times. It'll be on tap again for tonight
