Jeremy - What Makes This Song Great?

Excellent in-depth breakdown of Jeremy by musician/producer/instructor Rick Beato.  I had no idea this song was as complex as it is.  This guy seriously knows his shit!

Was anyone else aware there was a cello in the song?  I sure didn't. Enjoy!

The opening bass has popped every crowd that has ever heard it. Hands down an all-time classic.

Wow that was a cool video. I have no musical knowledge at all but still neat to hear what he was saying.

Great song obviously, but I had started taking it for granted.  The song hit me again when Chris died last year (won't get into it here) and then seeing EV do it with strings in Dublin last summer...I was bawling.

    It really is special.

Awesome to see the song completely broken down like that. Still a great song. Makes me want to break out Ten on my drive home today :rock_on:

First PJ song I ever heard (when MTV had the video on constant rotation in '92).
There is a live version that I love where Jeff's bass sounds pretty evil- there is some kind of effect on it and the intro is a bit more drawn out than usual... I think it may have been on a SA tour. Anyway, this was my gateway song, so I love it for that reason!

I thought the last few tours, from ‘13-‘16 anyway they played Jeremy amazingly well. Some of my favorites are from this period.  Just tight and a great buildup, not sloppy like some years.

Jeffs bass is the No 1 reason for sure.
