Silencing Opposing Speech

LOL, we always bashed Russia for not allowing their citizens to make conflicting statements to the Government, now we are doing the same thing in the United States, you are attempting the limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, because most of us aren't actually there, and we have to accept others accounts, they could be completely full of shit and we'd never know, unless we have them on video tape or something. Otherwise you are accepting the words of people you never met on a willingness to believe, a leap of, dare I say it, faith.0 -
when has he incited any violence? please give me examples, or is that just some made up thing you pulled out of the air, because anyone promoting violence should be dealt with accordingly and that goes for both sidesrgambs said:@Big Bank Hank
What do you think about the point I made, that he knowingly incites threats of violence with personal defamations based on ZERO credibli evidence?0 -
Exactly because people like Alex Jones just make the left look better, people who are well spoken and more polite but with the same agenda are far more dangerousJimmyV said:
Of course he's full of shit. His problem isn't that I know it. It is that YouTube doesn't want him and his particular brand of shit on its platform. No one has told Jones he cannot be hateful and disingenuous. No one has taken away his right to free speech.Big Bank Hank said:
and you aren't smart enough to figure out he's full of shit? you don't give people enough credit for freedom of choice & belief, you believe in a lot of things you have no proof ofJimmyV said:
Alex Jones insists the Newtown shootings never happened and declared the Boston Marathon attack a "false-flag" as it was happening. These are just two of his many blatant lies. Holding him accountable for those lies has nothing to do with criticizing the government.Big Bank Hank said:oftenreading said:

And Jones has the right to say it WHEN he doesn’t harm others, but others don’t have to facilitate him to do so. That’s how it works.Big Bank Hank said:

Because that's what objective people do, they take what one person or a group of people say as gospel. There are things called facts, actually factual. Then there are falsehoods. unsung I stopped by on March 7 2024. First time in many years, had to update payment info. Hope all is well. Politicians suck. Bye. Posts: 9,487Twitter is also silencing speech.
Facebook has done it.
If it isn't inciting violence, threatening someone, outright racism, or blatant hate should it be censored? Even by a private compnay. Why the fear in the opposing viewpoint?

Because their not obligated to share the "opposing" viewpoint from their own, whatever it may be. Would the Pro-Life Movement allow a pro-Planned Parenthood message? Why fear the opposing viewpoint?unsung said:Twitter is also silencing speech.

Bezos is getting a lot of money from US Intelligence, so you really think that doesn't effect what is their papers? Like they are going to publish anything that the people who are paying them wouldn't like? If you answered no, then you just don't understand how for profit corporations work. Apple is getting a sweetheart deal from Chinese government & what's to stop them from giving all our information to them? You get into a slippery slope when you start doing things subjectively instead of objectively which most people are incapable of once they get to a certain point in life.Halifax2TheMax said:

I'd start with the energy industry and the dairy industry.
Then I'd go after Elon Musk's subsidies.
Then anyone that supported GMO's.
That would be the first day.0
