Whether you believe it or not I'm not here to debate, just repeating what 10C has already confirmed. The situation you describe is extremely unlikely so in that sense the impact would be virtually nil if it were to happen.timdwilli said:
If this is correct, that would mean hypothetically someone could have signed up for a free account in 2003 and become a paid member for the first time on January 23rd and they would have the same seating priority on this tour as someone who has paid annual dues for 15 years. I could be wrong, but almost positive that a free account holder who decides to become a paid member gets a new number just the same as when someone's membership lapses and they rejoin.100 Pacer said:
Right but only once activated.timdwilli said:
But that would give the person seniority based on when they activated their free account.100 Pacer said:
The non-active number would then become active, a new number wouldn't be assigned.timdwilli said:
What's the rationale on having that placeholder? If a free membership decides to join, they get a new number anyway.PJNB said:
Did not know numbers where assigned for the free memberships too. Makes sense then.100 Pacer said:
Numbers are assigned for various things. They're not actually activated for membership until dues are paid. So you can have a rush of non-members purchasing goods from the shop and subsequently have a run on numbers.PJNB said:The fact that 10 club numbers has jumped 140,000 spots in less then a year really has me scratching my head.To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. I'm likely moving to the Bay Area in the Fall, from the northeast, so I found this pretty interesting. Was thinking maybe I'd get more PJ opportunities on the West coast but I guess not.lastexit78 said:192xxx and I joined in '99. I've invested over $400 in memberships and the band has toured my region (Northern California) twice since 2006, one of which was festival with no Ten Club benefits. They are pretty lucky fans like us have stuck around and that some of us can travel. If you don't live in Europe, the Northeast or Chicago and can't travel you have no need for a membership. That's been pretty well proven for a decade now. I was under the impression people did that because they are trying to keep their number private, but fair enough. makes sense.BCBA said:

I originally signed up in June 2007, but only became a paid member in 2013. My number is 501xxx which is in line with others that joined around 2013! Why I never joined up sooner is beyond me as I bought 10 the day it was released! Oh well!100 Pacer said:

I remember a few years ago someone plotted all these on a graph in a thread. It was cool to see the trend in amount of members joining and when.
if anyone finds it, please post it, I’d love to see it again.I'm like an opening band for your mom.0
