You are correct. This is the main split between conservatives who support Trump and conservatives that are #NeverTrump. Conservatives who are pro-trump watched the dems obliterate an honourable and decent man such as Mitt Romney. They have realized that regardless of character the left will turn any candidate into a racist, misogynistic, nazi. They are tired of that playbook and decided to go with the man of zero character to take on the woman of zero character. NeverTrump conservatives could not make that leap yet are slowly coming around to Trump's conservative results. They are recognizing that no other republican candidate could withstand the onslaught that Trump has taken. For now it is "a fighter" over "character".

Romney got obliterated because he was an exceptional emblem of the cause of the recession trying to get elected to fix the recession.  The attacks didn't defeat him, that's just a nice fantasy concocted to explain a defeat that should have been painfully obvious.

To say that he lost the election because he was painted as a bigot doesn't really square with the actual bigot winning the next election.  Why didn't the various collections of bigots turn out and win the day for Romney?   Oh, right, you don't really believe in racists and bigots, only in false accusations of racism and bigotry.

I didn't say that is why he lost. You need to read my post again. He lost because as decent as he was he was inauthentic and did not come across as a fighter. The Obama campaign themselves have stated that they buried Romney in negative ads and that the election was over even before the convention. I believe it. Romney was too decent to fight back. Trump is a New York billionaire with less of a track record then Romney but he convinced his voters that he would fight for them. The base did not want character. They wanted a fighter.

No. I didn't say it's ok. I said people were willing to choose "no moral compass" Trump over the "no moral compass" alternative. The election didn't take place in a vacuum.

I don't think they bargained for a fighter, fighting their way into an impeachment corner. Brilliance and all. And without the assist from Russia, Russia, Russia, he wouldn't be fighting at all.

Ha...for the record it looks like more people have been forced out of the FBI for wrong doing then the Trump administration to date. Russia, Russia, Russia is ending deep state careers on a daily basis. Only a fighter could produce that result.

Your counter argument to me was weak.  Profanity abbreviated is not character.  Porn stars,  fake universities,  etc.. this is character.

Now we also know that another memo written by an investigative journalist made many of the same claims as the Steele Dossier. Combined, three different sets of intel or claims, and there may be more as we don’t know what the Estonians, Australians and Czechs shared, made the basis for the FISA warrant. These facts don’t fit your narrative of the Obama Administration, an administration devoid of scandal, criminal investigations and indictments for a period of two full terms, trying to overturn an election. Thus far, you have been wrong on every claim you’ve made regarding Team Trump Treason and “nothing to hide” or there was “no collusion.” How stupid do you think we are?
