Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

I just finished, They Can't Kill Us All by Wesley Lowery, which I would recommend, and I started, Best Food Writing 2017, edited by Holly Hughes. Good so far.

Re-reading WG Sebald's Austerlitz. I recommend it, but you should read his novels Vertigo and The Emigrants first.

I love that quote of Bukowski's that goes something like, "I like the idea of poetry and poets but I'm really not a fan of reading poetry."  The man had grit!

Speaking of poet/novelists, I'm reading this remarkable and intense memoir by Native American writer Sherman Alexie:

"It's a sad and beautiful world"

Stories of Your Life and Others. A collection of short stories and novellas by Ted Chiang. One of them, Story of Your Life, is the novella that the movie Arrival was based on. I haven’t seen the movie but now I’d like to. The story is gorgeous.

Moonglow by Michael Chabon.   Very interesting review of the history of rocketry and the early space program,
with an absorbing cast of characters.
