Seriously. Give me some details.

I figured as much.
I have no idea what hunting wild boars might be like.
I'm assuming the cages are a lure of some sort. Where is this with regards to where you live? Is this your rig? Tell me what you have going on here please!
Thanks for the info! Wild pigs are not something I ever encounter at anytime where I live. Supposedly they're out there (escaped from barns?)... but they are not a nuisance as far as I know. None of my buddies who hunt regularly ever report sighting them.
I understand they can be fierce and have the potential to really hurt someone. I can see why an assault rifle might be useful against them. With that said, I'm still against the ownership of one despite this (trade offs).
* For the record... whether they were strong or not... I have offered very detailed arguments for restricting ownership before. I've got 1000s of posts and I don't care to dig them up or reinvent them. I've come to terms with the fact that the idea of restrictions is never going to happen in the US. This fact doesn't make owners shitty people. If you and I sat down and had beer together... I'm pretty sure we'd find things to laugh at and music we'd both simultaneously say, "What a great f**king tune!" My beliefs are mine. I like to express them. I like to defend them.
** I'm speaking from British Columbia if you don't remember. Wildlife is truly abundant here: coming back cross country skiing a few weeks back I saw a massive moose (it looked like it was trying to take down a tree). I've seen moose before, but this one was a barrel chested animal. It was huge! About 50 yards from it lurked a coyote watching it in action. A really neat scene.0 -

I have always spoken to restrictions of handguns and a ban on assault rifles and large capacity magazines- never guns as a whole.
Ranchers would be people in the 'approved' category for sidearm ownership (in my model). Just like some people who work in the bush or remote areas. There is a definite need for such a 'tool'."My brain's a good brain!"0 -

No you don't have to snip your balls. You are all man! woot!
Let me take people like you seriously. Is it the life you take you love or your balls.
I mean the 'hobby' you love has only one purpose, to kill. Do you love killing?
You are definitely not a nutless crybaby. Might be the toughest MAN I know on the internet.

Also worth mentioning, Venison is on the same level as salmon nutrition wise (not that I don’t like a nice juicy ribeye steak on occasion) and frankly, I cannot stand the taste of tofu. I would say that my methods of getting my meat is way less inhumane than the processes that puts meat on the store shelves, so there is that too.
Now go eat your tofu cheeseburger and get off my ass.Post edited by PJPOWER on0 -

“ The city's overall crime rate, especially the violent crime rate, is substantially higher than the US average. Chicago was responsible for nearly half of 2016's increase in homicides in the US, though national crime rates stayed near historic lows.”
Nice glass house you have there...shame if something happened to it You said you live in TX, right?
Texas is 32nd in firearm death rates per capita, and the 16th most violent state
Texas is 6th in incarceration rate
...has 3 of the least literate cities in America
...is one of the 10 worst states to be a kid
...was ranked 43rd in the nation on Education Quality
...ranks 41st in Health Care
....has the worst nursing homes in the nation
....has 3 of the 14 worst VA hospitals in the nation
....has a lower per capita and per household income than Illinois
Chicago has it's fair share of problem. But Texas has Houston, Dallas, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Arlington, Laredo & Austin - all of which have a higher crime rate than Chicago
This took me like 5 minutes. All I had to do was type "Texas ranks worst in...." and let google auto-fill do the rest.
...Texas sounds like a real shithole...0 -

I'm legitimately surprised this one resulted in any punishment (pending appeal, I'd suspect)

You'd think some kind of Stand your Ground thing would have gotten him off. Some racist turd is going to win an election in Louisiana campaigning on this.

I think we should at least post stories of the victims & their families and what they have to deal with ..
These kinds of shootings are only happening here in this country...we have a gun problem until gun advocates start admitting it we will never fix it ...jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -

It's stunning the story of the 15 yo Kentucky girl is barely in the news this week. I have a child around that age and my heart goes out to their family. There have been many school shootings in the first month of 2018. America's gun problems are getting exponentially worse each year.
The problem in America is we have too many that believe the wording in the second amendment stating we can "bear arms" is to be literally applied forever; but those inconvenient words "well regulated militia," is only relevant to the specific militias that existed at that time. In other words, we have no chance for any meaningful gun safety reforms0 -

Getting drunk is far better than getting killed... having your teens sneak your booze and getting drunk is far better than having your teens playing with your handgun and killing someone.
If you want to assume the risk... feel free. The victims we read about assumed the risk thinking nothing would happen to them.

Well... seeing as you've brought it up... there are many by-laws to pool ownership aimed at public safety. For example, your pool needs to be fenced in so toddlers cannot make the mistake of accessing the pool and falling in. Homeowners are liable when accidents occur in their pools on their property if safety measures were neglected.
Weird eh? I mean... I know gun owners are 'encouraged' to lock their firearms up, but many don't and as a result... accidents occur. Gun owners are rarely held responsible for their negligence.
Guns are tools designed specifically to shoot a hole into something (to paraphrase Lynyrd Skynyrd: guns are made for killing... they ain't no good for nothing else). Pools are designed for leisure.
Pools have tougher restrictions than guns? Weird, man.
And no post of mine in this thread would be complete with one... good... 'YEE HAW GIT 'ER Dun'.
