    After missing out on AirBNB at Yessler for Seattle for what I thought was a steal... I decided to just preemptively book for the Boston shows, managed to get a Queen room at Buckminster for $224 per night

    Thanks for mentioning the Buckminster, I just booked 9/4 at a very good price for a place that is in walking distance of Fenway.

    i looked up hotels when the rumors popped up. saw a bunch of hotels for around $500-600 for like 6 nights (so like around $100 a night) and now they're crazy expensive. and now booking.com is showing me like 4 hotels as opposed to like 25 hotels. wish i woulda booked when i had the chance but once it dies down i'll look again i guess

    Try the Inn at Longwood. Cheapest we could find in the area. 10 min walk to Fenway.

    Don't wait.  As I noted above in this thread, that's move-in week for BU, and likely several other colleges. The longer you wait, the more rooms will be at a premium b/c you 'll be dealing not only with the PJ shows but with families dropping kids off at college.

    My buddy and I are considering staying in the South End area but aren't familiar w/ Boston. Is this a good place to stay? Any recommendations are appreciated!

    Looks like The Buck is sold out.  I booked at The Boxer last week.  Never been there but it will be nice to be downtown during the day(s).  I'm sure the T after the show will be packed but I can deal with that.

    What part of the South End?  Most of the South End is great... some of the best food in the city (and some parts walkable to Fenway).  But there are a few specific areas I wouldn't recommend to tourists.  Nothing all that terrible, but not where you probably want to spend your vacation.
