Have been really sad all day because Billy Thorpe died of a heart attack this morning. Had just been to see him less than 2 weeks ago with some friends at a club and remember thinking he looked kind of like an older version of Eddie. His voice and guitar playing was so amazing. Yeah remember all the hype of the Sunbury Festival and looking at the pics in Go Set magazine, and I think seeing footage of it on GTK.
You know how ppl get lyrics mixed up my sister in law thought that Poison Ivy was Boys all over...LOL
There was a thread here or RM b4 the tour asking what song u would like Ed to cover and I said "Because I love you"
which was a Masters Apprentice song from the 70's, anyway the footage they were showing of Billy Thorpe today on the Today Show was of him doing that song...Thats one of my fave australian songs from the early 70's.

theres a special on Win Tv tonight at 10:30 for Billy Thorpe.

Yeah Billy did a kind of fast acoustic version of "Because I Love You" at the show we went to on February 16. It's one of my favourite songs from my childhood. They're having a memorial show for him this Sunday in Sydney and we are all thinking of going ..
