Low light. I was there the first time they opened with it in 2008 and it wasn’t done again until wrigley 2016.

    Wash was a great opener.

Elderly Woman was not such a great opener.

Elderly Woman is a great opener. Pops the crowd every time which is what an opening song should do.

    Wrong again, Jimmy.

totally killed the vibe in Virginia 2010. so much so that they played about 5 or 6 rockers in a row to get it going again.

maybe it had to do with the shitty acoustics at that Amphitheatre.

Totally agree here.  100% killed the crowd.

I saw them open with ARC in Council Bluffs back in 03. The only time I ever saw PJ perform it live and a very cool way to kick off the show!
true. Arc in Fargo 03 for me. only 9 times ever opening a show.
I think it was played only 9 times total and only 3 times opening (Little Rock 6/10, Council Bluffs 6/13 and Fargo 6/15)

My first show in Milwaukee on 7/9/95 opened with "Act of Love". In hindsight, that was insane

the theory was that they played it 9 times for the 9 people who died at the denmark show in 2000.

I don't think that was a theory. didn't someone in the band confirm that?

On the very unusual all things considered front, catching Once, which has been played 14 times as an opener but only twice since 1992, one being the night before 4.28.16, was unusual get at the Ten show.

I always thought it was strange that Once opened both shows. And then heard that before the 2nd show they were given a '10' banner for their tenth show at the venue, so they decided to play the album. I was also surprised they went straight into '10' instead of doing the usual 2 or 3 song lead in...

Maybe this was the only time they have opened with the same song during a 2 night stand... ?

well they opened with back to back Pendulums in 2013 in Philly and that chapped a lot of asses when that happened.
However, about your comment about back to back Once in 2016 (ten album show) i am convinced, that the 10 album show was supposed to be night one (not night 2).  They walked our to Master/Slave and opened with Once, then Evenflow....then they didnt play Alive, like they were supposed to.....not only did they play b2b openers (once) they played b2b second songs (even flow)....the ten show should have been night one.

The 2nd song of night 1 was Animal.
    yea, you're right, good catch.

Breakerfall  2000 Columbus and Go - 2000 Detroit were the two craziest.  Go is a great way to start a show!
  • I'm not sure how frequently they have done it, but I was surprised when they opened with Nothingman in Telluride.
