I know I've posted this before somewhere in these parts. I was at this show and had my mind blown by this AIC and Gretchen Wilson cover of Barracuda. It's the best live video out there for my liking (it was freaking loud). For those that might have missed it... or for those that want to see a freaking rocker:

    You saw THAT?  Damn!
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

I remember listening to that song while driving through Texas up north for hours in 1995... great memories... It was the first time I visited the US. What I didn't know then - you would come up being a life changing time for me :)
I was busy lately, but I so like to come back and listen to the songs here and then jump on YT and listen to stuff I haven't listen to for years... or find something great or new out of a sudden!!! I'm way more open to all kind of music nowadays.

Temperatures are around 5° Celsius here the last days, that's ok around 0° during the nights. Man I'm happy it doesn't get that cold here in Germany.. we are blessed with the Gulf Stream that keeps the temperatures up! You Americans are getting a lot of hard times there lately...

About your paintings, I'm not really sure if they are from Bavaria :) but it's definitely from the south though. Just cool to see such old paintings!
That castle in Lithuania is well known! Lithuania is called the pearl of the Baltic countries and Trakai and it's National Park must be an amazing place to visit! Sadly I have never been there yet.

Got lost in music for a while now. Nearly forgot to come back and finish this here...
Sorry for putting this video up here again, but damn... I just love that band! Would make me happy if someone would listen till the end of it! :)

And I just love The Highwaymen :)

In a couple of months, I shall have the pleasure of attending a show at a small local iconic venue where each of the H-men (among other legends) have performed individually over the years.

Think I'm gonna cozy up to some of their tunes this weekend.

Cool what venue is it that you speak of?
& Who are you going to see there?
If you're into the Highwaymen, this is the best thing ever.

And this album version of it is what it is, is actually a better version than the one I posted earlier.  Reggie Young's lead guitar is much more prominent on this album version.  It must have been the take that made the album.
    And Just a wonderful Album.

And here's my second favorite song on this particular Highwaymen album.
Called Death and Hell by Johnny Cash.

One more song why not. I'm trying to bump Trump from the top spot on the moving train conversation.  Replace it with Lounge Car Talk.
This Here song is by Kris Kristofferson from about 1982. It's called
    Here Comes That Rainbow Again.
Such a beautiful song listen to it and feel good about life again.
This song is about humans being good to humans.  Something we all could use more of.

Sorry RYME, yes I am ok. Didn't want to worry anyone.
My Mum just left hospital yesterday to go back tomorrow and get a heart surgery on Tuesday. But I can't be there for her because I finish after 2years and have to do my final exams next week.
I'm just worried and feeling bad for not being there. That's all. Just can't stop thinking about it.

Thank you for your nice words RYME, I easily can give them back to you! :)
Sorry again, I think I was just lost in thoughts and didn't choose my words wisely!

So how's your weekend going RYME?
I think HEDONIST had a lot of fun - well I hope so! Looked that band MISSIO up and wow, that's some cool unique stuff they're doing. I like it!
Hedonist - you already brought me back to Puscifer and I found this version which I love so much! Thank you!
So I dedicate this to you tonight

Thanks for clarifying.  I hope all goes well for your Mum.
Back in 2000, my sister was very good at volleyball.  She ended up getting a scholarship to George Washington University.  After being noticed by a college Scout,  The head coach personally came out to Wisconsin to watch my sister play in a high school playoff game during her senior year in High School.
The coach from George Washington University introduced herself to us, recruited my sister to a full-ride scholarship to play for George Washington University.  And then she said some words like "I wish it was next year already."
We didn't know what that meant other than whatever.   So The Following fall/autumn,  my sister to goes out to Washington DC on a full-ride scholarship to George Washington University to play volleyball. And two weeks before the volleyball season starts, her head coach the one who personally came out to meet and greet us & recruit my sister, hung herself in her basement at home.  Shock and horror to all of us.
My sister continued volleyball there but has been saddened/permanently hurt by that ever since.  My sister has a tattoo on her ankle that highlights her Fallen coach. :|
She was saying I wish next year was here already.  So that's why your words kind of freaked me out, but it's all good.
Your mum will understand and you do what you gotta do.
    Take care of yourself KCE8

I'm sorry for your sister that she had to go through things like that when she was so young! That should not happen.

I try to get some sleep, it's 1:30 am here... so only 4:30 hours sleep left.
Good night then, have a good sleep.

Momma Sed has special meaning for my husband and me, not just for its strength and high-roading it, but it was also something our own mothers said to us over the years.  I think it's mostly true.

Good thoughts for your mom.  It's tough (though incumbent) to worry about our parents when they've been the ones doing that for us.

Thanks for sharing this RYME :)
I'm glad you liked that. She does not  tour much, I saw her in 2008 Madison Wisconsin unbelievable show she puts on.  They played this song and midway through it I thought how familiar this riff or rhythm sounds.  I had to think for a minute while I was sitting there I thought to myself,  this sounds a little like Immortality.
Here is probably one of my favorite songs of hers Beneath a Phrygian Sky!!
See if you guys/gails feel the same way or can hear it. Total coincidence I'm sure but it sounds familiar.
Listening to  Loreena McKennitt goes really well with a fireplace burning and a bottle of good bourbon or a good Merlot.

We were listening quite often to Loreena McKennitt's "The Book of secrets" sitting around the campfire in the late 90s.
Brings up a lot of memories.
She has such a great voice and her songs are beautiful, so emotional and mystical. I remember that I was a little disappointed when I learned she was from Canada. lol  (We were into all that celtic stuff for a while back then.
Even that we usually listened to really different music, at a campfire it was just perfect!
I think the original version of Dantes Prayer was one of my brother's and also my best friends wedding song.
:) Her music for me is good winter Music.  I like to sit by my wood stove with a stiff drink and just indulge once in a while.
In 1999, I had never heard of her, until one day,
I was driving from Wisconsin to the Grand Canyon where I got a job guiding Mule rides.  (Yes I guided mule rides at the Grand Canyon the summer of 99, quite awesome to ride down & up it every day and get payed for it.)
So in my beat up pickup truck that I had at the time,  I went out to Salt Lake City, & went South of course.  On a Salt Lake radio station, I cought this song of hers that blew my mind combined with Utah's beauty.  It was one of those magical mystical experiences.  At the end of the song they did not say who it was.  An obscure song on an obscure radio station in Salt Lake City I thought I'd never hear the song again or figure out who the heck it was, but two or three years later I heard it on a Chicago 93xrt radio station and they said who it was and I pulled over so I could write it down elated as hell because now I could buy & collect her stuff.  ;)
9 years later I got to see her in person in Madison Wisconsin.

My grandparents were born and raised in Chicago.  My grandma's mom & dad & aunt we're from southern Germany, I don't know what town.  My great great aunt passed away peacefully in 1994 she was 100.  She painted these when she was in her 20s in Germany.  So paintings one says 19 on it the other one says 22.
    So almost 100 years old.
kce8 said they look Baverian.  I'm not familiar with that, so I say ok cool.
My grandpa's parants were from Ireland.
