We skipped Petty, Local H, CRB and Dave & Tim this year, amongst others, because we were trying to save some money for a cruise. I hate the idea of a cruise, but give and take.

We saw Chris Cornell on his 2nd or 3rd from last show, and missed Petty altogether, so we made it a point not to miss anymore concerts for any reason. Pretty soon all of the "good" bands will be dead or retired. That's when we can start skipping shows.

Agree with you.  I missed Petty this year and Les Paul a few years ago too...

I thankfully got to see Leonard Cohen, Allman Bros and Cornell these last few years.

How was the Robby Krieger Band? I saw them years ago (on my 25th birthday) and they/he sounded great!  I even got to meet him after the show.

Quality not quantity in 2017. After Chris Cornell died I didn't honestly know when, or even if, I'd want to see live music again. The first few shows were rough. My friend and I had toyed with the idea of seeing Soundgarden in Detroit, but balked. I'm glad we didn't, and I'm glad I can remember all the good times I had being in the same room as Chris.

Got Robert Plant and the Foos lined up for 2018.

I felt the same way about Petty.

Chris Cornell came here about a year and half ago, I passed because I didn't have the money, I regret it now.

How was the Robby Krieger Band? I saw them years ago (on my 25th birthday) and they/he sounded great!  I even got to meet him after the show.
They were great! I really enjoyed it. Very cool to see Robby Krieger playing those Doors songs! His son did the vocals and sounded pretty good too! Really fun show overall. Hearing Robby Krieger talk about some stories from the past was very interesting as well. Definitely the closest thing to being able to see The Doors!

    That's exactly how I felt.

Does John Densmore still play out?  I'm not sure if even played Doors songs while he's out anyway.
