Come and get some tonight Flyers.  (Go Kings Go!)
Great game last night, though.  I root for Flyers when not playing the Kings and I have Simmonds & Ghost Bear as starters on my FH team and B.E. as my 3rd goaltender.

My buddy stayed up for the game and said they looked much quicker than last year. 1st place and the league's leading scorer. I'll boast while I can.
    Alright, alright, alright!

I was going to stay up for the game and the rest of the ballgame...but after staying up for the Yankees/Twins on Tuesday and knowing I would be up tonight to see Kings/Flyers I crashed out.  I have to text @Empty Glass throughout the night as the Kings get a lead and then the win.  He best remember to turn off his cell phone!  ;)

    Team speed has definitely improved.
I read somewhere that the Flyers will have the 5th youngest team in the league if they keep both Morin and Sanheim.
Manning showed last night why he should be down in the AHL as a call-up D-man.
They finally have a legit 4th line too.

Team is actually fun to watch.
Shocked that the Couturier experiment seems to be working so far, he has played well
How about that pass tonight from Patrick on the Weise goal.....slick.

agree on all of this.  I didn't really like the idea of Couturier on the 1st line but so far so good.  Playing Giroux on the wing was a really smart move.  Really nice to see the speed of this team.  Konecny has looked good. Ghost looks like rookie year Ghost (although I hope the shot to arm late didn't hurt him).  Provorov is going to be a stud defensemen if he is not already there.  And yes that Patrick pass was awesome.

Giroux and Ghost seem to finally be fully recovered from the abdominal surgeries. What we saw last year is what Patrick is likely dealing with right now. He has played well for a rookie but the speed isnt there. His skating will hopefully improve next year.

Couple of observations after 8 games.
This team should be 6-2, but 5 -3 isn't bad. They've been in every game.
Flyers have the 2nd lowest GAA in the league. They aren't giving up many shots on goal.
The speed on the back end is tremendous. This is also despite Elliot playing pretty damn bad in his starts.
    A. MacDonald now out 4 to 6 weeks. Time to unleash the Morin.
Wayne Simmonds has 6 goals. 5 of them are game winners already.

that at Nashville loss still stings a bit.  Like where this team is though. the youth has provided a much needed spark and speed. fun team to watch right now.

Team got absolutely owned all over the ice tonight with no answer. First loss this year where they got beat..and hard.
Patrick looks like he got a concussion, left the game in the second. Ducks were just running around hitting everyone with no response. This is a very soft team outside of Simmonds and it would have been nice to have Morin in the lineup.
Gudas attempted to fight and this was the embarrassing result.

Not much of a hockey guy but damn....Flyers always get the hottest in arena hosts. This Andrea Helfrich chick is not uneasy on the eyes.

    That's all I got.

Someone there has an eye for talent.  Met and had drinks with some of the ice girls last season after a game.  (My wife met them and looped me in...not like I am swinging with the ice girls)  They were cool & also not uneasy on the eyes.

    It is officially ugly.
I'm betting Hakstol is gone by the Eagles game on Sunday, if not sooner. He's not a good coach but all the blame certainly doesn't lie with him.
The Gm should officially have a fire under his ass as well as this core of vet players.

Hey, so, hockey......this team is very, very fragile, yeah?
