Thanks
for waiting everyone! Just got the word that the lps are heading here
from Czech Republic -- looks like middle of next week and I'll have them
in hand and can start sending them out!! Best, Danny, Rick, Faith and
Eric!
rickfrielThis is a very special thing for me-the first full length 12” album I’ve been on @dsugarmakers
As a life time lover of vinyl records I have always wanted to be on an
album and now I finally am! Beautiful yellow vinyl too! Life is good. #alltheway#vinyl
So,
we're mailing out LP's to the preorder folks this week, and our
national distribution/release date via Think Indie is December 8th!
We'll play the Conor Byrne in ballard to celebrate on the 15th of
December, our last show of the year! Before then, we're playing out of
town, some record store shows, a gig up north in shoreline next month
on the 4th with Stacey Jones and Ian Jones. National distribution means
any independent store in the country can order our disk, and will have
it in hand. A few stores in Seattle will have the colored vinyl before
December: Easy Street, Sonic Boom, Silver Platters, and Everyday Music.
Thanks to you all! Danny, Rick, Faith, and Skyler.
On All the Way Seattle rock wolves Danny Newcomb and the Sugarmakers have followed up their critically-snogged 2015 debut Masterwish with
an album, not just as great, but evoking more depth and expanse in both
sound and substance. It’s reminiscent of when Matthew Sweet jumped from
indie singer/songwriter to buzz band leader. And similarly, this is
probably because All the Way also features delectable layers of
riffs and chords from Newcomb along with bandmate Mike McCready (yo
Pearl Jam). The latter is releasing new seven-inch vinyl single “King of Nothing” on his label HockeyTalkter Records.
Newcomb, a vet of swanky and smart Pac NW
garage rock bands Shadow, Goodness, and The Rockfords, has delivered an
eleven-track odyssey of fighting against the darkness, and often hanging
on by the skin of your teeth. It’s perfect for listening to either on
rainy days downtown or walking along the beach on Vashon Island, where
he happens to live. Bass player Rick Friel has followed Newcomb to the
new band. In Goodness, Newcomb backed by Carrie Akre, but with the
Sugarmakers he’s actually out front for the first time.
KEXP’s Program Manager Kevin Cole compared
the debut to the Posies and Matthew Sweet, and fans of that kind of
visceral power pop won’t be disappointed with ‘All the Way.’ Try ‘King of Nothing’ and it should get you addicted for more of this crunchy guitar slathered combustible.
Just spent a few days at Studio Litho with Eric Corson at the board, and John Goodmanson hassling us a little as well. One of the best sessions we've had since the band started -- the new material has some outer reaches of Rock n Roll, some Pop, some alt- country love and some acoustic. It's going to be a beautiful record after I finish vocals and guitars next month. Hope to have it out in the Fall if the vinyl gods are willing.....
