And so you see, I have come to doubt

The only truth I know is you.

Randall's Island. What a mess. What a memory. John Popper on the harmonica!0

We arrived early and sat indian style in the sun all day with no water to hold our spots. We ended up right under the overhang of the stage, and when the rain started, it was like a waterfall onto our heads, and it was glorious.0

Hartford a few days later was incredible too.0

Incredible crowd in size. It took me 15 minutes to get from the back to about 15 feet in front of the stage.surforia said:I was there at the first Randall's show. Incredible mud pit!And so you see, I have come to doubt

Up close you either had your arms up, or down, and once up or down, you sometimes couldn't get them back the other way thats how tight it was. The crowd was like an ocean where you were literally lifted off your feet at times when the flow changed. I remember seeing my buddy surf right over us. At 19 it was amazing, when I think back its terrifying.0

"I know there is a mental hospital close by here... is that where you people came from?" Ed to the surging crowd night 2

Crowd surfed a dozen or so times. Sorry to the girl I knocked out when I landed on her head, the big dude threw me up a bit high.I'm like an opening band for your mom.0

I always have a much different recollection of this show because we were back near the soundboard tower and I didn't have any clue that it was so cramped upfront until a few years later. I knew night 2 was berserk from the band stopping several times.
I still maintain, note for note, 9.28 was a better show. The setlist for 9.29 was outrageous and long, for that era, but 9.28 was just insane, the rain came down harder when the band jammed harder, it was bizarre. It was like they controlled it.
Amazing. His eminence has yet to show.

The 9/29 version of Jeremy is wicked..

The second night I went with my girlfriend, now wife and told her "lets go up where I was last night, it was amazing".
So I grab her hand, and we start making our way to the middle center area, I look at her and shes like green....we turn around, head right back out, and she puked in the first garbage can we saw. Simply too tight to even breath up there.
I watched night 2 from the last row in the back bleachers, and man that was amazing too. You knew you were seeing music history at these shows.0 -
I was just thinking about the poster for this show. I have one framed but there couldn't have been too many that survived that first night in the driving rain and that pit. They would have gotten destroyed for sure. And so you see, I have come to doubt

I think your probably right...I scored this poster about 15 years ago for $100, which was a lot then.
I never framed it because the wife deemed it too weird, lol.0 -

Yeah, I was able to find one framed in the late 90s on eBay. Only paid like $130 with shipping. And so you see, I have come to doubt

for those interested, videos for both shows have surfaced, the quality is not tremendous, but the sound for 9.28 is better than most of what I have come across over the years...video for 9.28 has some goofiness to it
