(Ed informs the audience that tonight is the 26th anniversary of the very first show George Webb did with Pearl Jam.  “Anywhere we go George is right there beside us.”  Ed and George toast by drinking some bourbon.  Ed also mentions Bronson Arroyo having a retirement party and lastly he notes that it is his daughter Harper’s birthday as well has his friend Bruce Springsteen so he has the audience sing “happy birthday” to Bruce so he can send him a video of it.)

    I've seen Eddie now 8 times (tomorrow will be 9) and Pearl Jam 31 times and Eddie was good tonight but I can honestly say (in my opinion though I'm sure others have their own) Amos Lee stole the day. People were digging his vibe. His voice is amazing.

    It was nice to have a portion of the band back in Louisville.  It's only been about 23 years?  I think?  I will double check that above.  First time seeing Eddie solo after having seen the band 12 times and it was weird.  I kept waiting for the band to join in on songs like Porch and Unthought Known.  All that aside, it's hard to hold your own in an outdoor venue like that, for over an hour, with just your voice, guitar, uke, mandolin, etc. and he sounded great.  Hopefully he liked it enough to bring the rest of the back for Forecastle next year. Please?

    Great show tonight. He was playful with the audience and his voice sounded great.

    This was a great festival. Super chill all day long, the music was great. 
    Buddy Guy was the absolute highlight of the day. His set rocked and everyone was loving it. 
    Band of Horses were good, if in a bit of a weird mood it seemed.
    Eddie was great, voice sounded good he was in a good mood. I would have liked to have seen a longer set but such is a festival setting.
    I did feel a bit bad for Amos Lee and Steve Miller. Most everyone was trying to find a spot for Eddie's set or leave during their sets.
    Anything you lose from being honest
    You never really had to begin with.


    Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

    Eddie was great! Never gonna see him or PJ in a festival again though. Between the drunkies yelling and talking and the singalongs covering his voice on many songs, it really does not make for a great experience. I hate to be like that, but fellow TC jammers in TC GA during shows last year were much much more respectful of the band and people around.

    I enjoyed Ed's performance. He sounded great!  
    i thought Open all Night was very well done and so was I am a Patriot, I'm so Tired and Rockin' in the Free World.  I was surprised that ritfw was played alone like that but it worked!  Of course, I enjoyed all the songs but those stood out for me as less frequently heard songs.

    i was glad I arrived early and waited for hours to keep my good spot because it was worth it when Ed came out.

    After getting to the show early to get a poster and waiting in the sun all day near the stage I got dehydrated...

    While Ed was finishing up Sometimes I passed out from heat exhaustion/dehydration. I'd like to thank all the people around me for worrying and the medical staff for taking me backstage and giving me fluids. It was an incredibly scary situation to be in. Somewhere in the process I dropped my poster and t-shirt that I had bought. One fellow fan made sure that I got the shirt back... but unfortunately no one returned my poster.

    Once I was feeling better the medical staff released me and I was able to get back to almost where I was previously. By that time Ed was playing Lukin. I missed 8 of the 17 songs... But I'm just glad to still be here! 

    I want to apologize to all the people near me that were affected... I'm sure that I had to hit a few of you when I fell. This all happened pretty close to the rail stage left...

    I lost the poster and missed half the show... but I'll never forget what happened!

    We were just a few groups behind you, I believe. In the commotion it was hard to be sure everything was alright, but I am so glad to read this. It was a long, hot day. Take care, and I am sorry someone snatched your poster. 

    Eddie was awesome. He sounded great and was very playful with the crowd. "What's the name of the festival? Bed, Bourbon and Beyond?" He even tried a couple shots of bourbon to be a good sport, which was pretty hilarious. Made copious fun of the drunks up front. I loved the slightly different take on RITFW and I was so glad to get I'm So Tired. Just a great set. The rest of the day's music was also good, but Amos Lee really stood out to me. 

    Festival was alright. I probably wouldn't go back to ones put on by this company. Weird policies, a severely understaffed merch tent. (That was where I almost wound up with heat exhaustion myself.) The vast majority of people were very kind and cool, and in general the thing was pretty well organized and a lot of fun, but right around us during Ed's set (actually between me and cincinnati dude) was one especially dickish person. Always at least one, especially in festival crowds. Ah well - a great night!

    Brutal heat...glad Cincy dude was ok.  

    Festival was definitely odd.  There were "No chairs beyond this point" signs up that no one seemed to be following or enforcing.

    Yeah for real. And yet, the concession stands wouldn't let you keep a water bottle cap if your life depended on it. Because that's apparently the most important rule to enforce? Weird. (I understand the bottle cap policy, I just think it's an odd hill to die on if you're not enforcing other safety rules.)

    Think it's possible the chair thing may also have been made worse by the no-reentry rule, but who knows. It was awkward. Whole thing felt like they weren't expecting Eddie to be as big of a draw as he was.

    They wouldn't let me bring in my sunscreen and their reasoning was that aerosol could be made into a bomb? Hah

    Ha! Good to see you and ND again (and get a brief reprieve in the shade!) :sunglasses: Yep, def a big hard sun. I didn't have a drop of bourbon at the Bourbon Fest...woulda been a recipe for disaster in that heat (I did bring home a nice reserve bottle from Angel's Envy tho :innocent:)    Fortunately, the stage cast shade on the area in front of it staring around 2:30. I felt the toll waking up yesterday but rebounded during the drive to Franklin. We took it much easier yesterday and enjoyed Ed's set from about 1/3rd the way back.

    Who else got caught in the massive disaster getting out of there?  Couldn't get a cab, Uber or Lyft.
    We ended up walking 4 miles, across the river and under 65 to get back to where we were staying.
    In flip flops, with a sleeping toddler.  Long night lol
