My daughter graduated from college in May.  Just got a full time job and is covered there.

I logged in to healthcare.gov to report the change to remove her from our policy.  Took about 5 minutes.  Three days later I get my allocated bill in the mail.  Premium dropped about $200/month (I was notified of this online....as soon as I indicated the change)

    Simple as that.

    Thanks Obama

The people who think that private systems are more efficient and cheaper than single payer government systems are clearly people who have no experience in healthcare billing lol

That's what you get when you make the statements Trump made about someone who honorably served their country. I bet McCain could kick Trump's ass and would probably like to as well.

"I cannot in good conscience vote for the Graham-Cassidy proposal," the Arizona Republican said in a statement. "I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried. Nor could I support it without knowing how much it will cost, how it will (affect) insurance premiums, and how many people will be helped or hurt by it. Without a full CBO score, which won't be available by the end of the month, we won't have reliable answers to any of those questions."

I really don't think it's that though. McCain has always did what he thinks is the right thing. Sure, to us liberals his idea of the right thing is waaaay fucking off sometimes but he doesn't just make his choices based on red and blue, he makes them based on what his mind/heart believes, and that's why I've always had a hard time disliking him. I really hope we can have another election someday with as respectable candidates as Obama and McCain were.

This is a good to for folks on the left to acknowledge McCain and Rand Paul for doing the right thing.  Maybe they and other like them will continue to do so.

Rand Paul is very likely to vote against the Graham-Cassidy proposal.  Maybe not really the right time to be tell him to f himself.

Yes, think it, say it.  I don't mean to sound like I'm telling anyone what to do or think.  I'm just suggesting that when someone  who is from a position most often of an opposing party or side does something that supports something one is in favor of, that it is more constructive to applaud that move rather than say "fuck you".  Unless, of course, the point is simply to champion division, anger, divisiveness, etc.   Maybe some people actually don't like the idea of getting along or having a world with less conflict.  I don't know.  Maybe so.

No, brian, the point isn't to champion division, anger or divisiveness.  The point is to get a decent health care system for everybody in the country. I don't believe Paul is attempting to do that with his vote. He's only voting against the current proposal because it isn't bad enough for his tastes. I can accept and be glad of the vote without applauding his reasons for it.

What are Rand Paul's motives? If this was only about taking sides I would have said McCain could go fuck himself, but I didn't.

Thats why nothing gets solved. Both sides are hypocrites.  Politicians and the citizens who are hardcore this or that.  If hardcore dems and hardcore republicans would analyze themselves they’d see that they’re the same kind of person

Yea right? Both sides. Obama thoughtfully crafted a bill, got it passed and made some lives better. The repubs, despite the rehtoric and control of all three branches of government haven't done shit. But sure, blame the Dems. Don't even get me going on the shambles the previous Republican administration left this country in and what was turned over to trump, yea sure, right the ship? Trump is steering the ship right into the iceberg.
