Unfortunately, they're called 10 club members.

There was this one girl near me (on the right side of the balcony) that just about made me want to drag her out of the Opera House by her hair, and I am a practicing Buddhist! It was just the shrill of her "Eddie, Eddie" it was driving me mad!
Other than that, the show was incredible. It was actually better than I thought it would have been (Eddie sans Pearl Jam). All the business with the lab coats on the stage hands and then him reminded me of David Byrne or Devo or something, it was twisted. He really is a weird cat.09/28/96 New York, NY

I'm still dazed from the show last night, it was the best, even with Ed being "on drugs". Can't wait for tonite.0

never heard of "i'm the one" or it's just a broken heart".

Im the one is a Who/Townsend tune, the other I beleive is an original.... How do we go about getting the messsage out there to, enjoy the show rather than scream every time between song, do they think hes going to change his set list?0

It wasn't THE untitled, it was an improv about the east coast. Still cool though.0 -
The entire crowd is seated and enjoying the show. During the first few chords of "Small Town" 4 guys in the front of the mezzanine decide to stand up. Then they never sit down. The crowd behind them start asking them to sit and are greeted with ignorance. Girls come out of their seats, walk down and implore the guys to sit, they are greeted with FU it's a concert. The 60ish year old female usher asks them to sit and is told where she can go-real nice fellas we have here. "Society" comes on, apparently these guys don't know the song and use this opportunity to confront the crowd. One of the neanderthals proceeds to walk up the stairs and starts challenging a couple guys to a fight. He then starts smacking his hands in the seated guys' faces. The slobbering idiots buddies see what's going on and proceed to join him in making bigger asses of themselves (if that was possible.) One of the idiots rips off his shirt and starts to mimic a special needs kid holding a sparkler (WE ARE AT THE OPERA HOUSE!).
Finally 6 male ushers come down and ask the guys to leave. They refuse. A cop is then brought on the scene and asks the same. "After this song" they say and return to their seats. Mind you during all this, hundreds of people are yelling "Throw them out" and cheered wildly when they saw the cop. But NOTHING happened. WTF-no security!!!!
Please Opera House, tonight have a few more police officers in the building to handle these types of meatheads. I know you're not used to this type of crowd so I implore you to be more prepared. A great experience was severely tarnished.

It was shameful and distracting. I was shocked that these idiots were not thrown out, especially after that crowd of security guards converged. The entire performance of society was ruined for me since there was so much nonsense going on. It's amazing that adults are just unable to behave themselves in a social setting. There are always a few idiots.
Everyone else is sitting down, just sit down and have some respect for those around you!0 -
Ed was trying his damnedest to get into the 'zone' for each particular song.
I enjoyed every second of his performance despite the screaming douchebag next to me.
@ the first false start for "Guaranteed" he yelled,
"That's why you didn't get the Oscar for it!"

in reference to above post, I can't believe someone had the balls to say that. I still can't believe someone yelled out to play a Pearl Jam song? What is up with that. the true fans would know he really already has the set list done, he may vary from it slightly, but doubtfull...08/29 & 8/30 2000-Mansfield

            [here my thoughts:
Ed came on stage about 8:50 pm to rousing accoustic house music.
stgae and backdrop scenes (3 different ones ) identical to the west coast tour.
initally seemed indifferent to the thuderous applause. thought this might be a night where he was in "a mood".
for me the show picked up with "I am Mine".. Ed semed to let his guard down and crack a smile.. voice was in great form.. guitar playing strong.
(note NO White pants, he had jeans and a shirt, believe he was wearing a DEVo concert shirt underneath.)
Wishlist (This song turned the tide..huge cheers to the opening chords,) Eddie teased "Sure but can you sing?" leading to several rade offs of choruses between Ed and crowd..Lots of use of his "foot stomp" platform ,
Eddie then told the audince he had seen a doctor locally for a "medical condition" (?) and that he was "on drugs" tonight.. joked about the side of the medication bottle saying he should avoid doing anything that "required" him to be alert" (!)
Setting Forth, (Great!)
Guaranteed (partial) ed forgets the chords and jokes that the drugs are making him forget the chords..
No Ceiling,
Guaranteed (nails the chords)
Far Behind (strong m*ther f8king performnace, Ed put everything into this song)
Millworker (James Taylor cover, this is the hidden gem of the whole concert, great vocals, furious guitar jam at the end.. don't miss this one!)
Hide Your Love Away (lots of sing alongs with house lights on chorus)
I'm One (goddamn perfect.. The Who!)
Porch (strong but short)
Untitled is really an "East Coast" Jam/ improv (returning for his encore, Ed literally took the beat of the crowds clapping and turned into an improv about loving the east coast and "F*ck the west coast".. Eddie whispers "don't tell them i said that!
Ed then tells the crowd he thinks they have been really great "a little boisterous but hey its Friday night) ans said he decided to add some songs (beyound the ones he was going to play anyways..) after looking in a newly grabbed notebook, we get a perfect rendition of " Small Town"
Before "Society" Ed tells the crowd this song hasn't been done in a while and he may need the people in the front row to help him with the second verse(but remembers it on his own (w/ Liam Finn),
Lukin (Ed's one consent to a crowd "request" done in a white hot spotlight..
before Arc (you have to see this to believe this) ed puts on his labcoat, people start yelling "Dr. Vedder!" and Ed responds slyly.. "You need some drugs?"
Hard Sun (w/ Liam Finn& female singer) curtain rises to dry ice smoke on the floor of the stage and all three performers giving us a perfect rendition of this massive tune!
PS: At one point mid-set Ed took a white towl he was using to wipe his face and wrapped it around his head "Manny Ramirez turbon style".. then he said to us "See if you can guess who I am?"
.. and then says "I'll stay here if you give me another $10 million dollars"...( a reference to Ramirez's recent antics leaving the red sox).. Ed takes the towel off and comments "i guess we know what the price of loyalty is.. $10 million"..
Great stuff.."This here's a REQUEST!"

            hey bostonteaoff,
I was sitting right in front of those morons. I absolutely couldn't believe they didn't get thrown out when the cops came over. It was a great night, but those idiots definitely ruined part of the show. If it wasn't just me and my girl I was gonna start giving the business, but I knew that probably wouldn't end up to my advantage.0 -
yeah, the screaming idiots were very annoying, especially the douche up top who yelled for ed to "play pearl jam songs," who ed really went off on -- and for good reason. but ed really had a good time as the night went along, especially awesome since he was feelin like crap anyways.
10c seats were amazing -- i brought my friend Abbie who is a die-hard like myself, and we had right stage, six rows back, closest seats to the aisle in between center and right stage. we were blown away by the performance, and the set changes and playbill really made this feel like a play almost, with ed being the story -- it was a really cool, intimate storytelling-like show. hard sun closing off the show was stunning, and throughout the night what really grabbed me was the use of loops -- from ed's stunning "arc" to liam finn making heavy use of them -- he was awesome too. And man, can Liam drum like a motherfucker. 10c never ceases to amaze me with all the good work in gettin me amazing seats, and this was no different for what was an amazing show.2003 Mansfield III
