  • THe first show is always a mess-
people know whats expected of them now, NY/NJ should be great!

  • I was in the Mezz, and those meat heads were a few rows behind me. "Security" actually tried to kick the loud mouths in the Mezz out a number of times, but security consisted of two older gentlemen, who told them if they didn't sit down (they were blocking the view of numerous people behind them), and stop being beligerent, they would be forced to leave. They didn't comply, despite security repeatedly visiting them with the same threat.

It was actually a little embarrassing for the security guys, as they were unable to control the situation.

Finally a Boston cop swung by, said somthing to the offfenders, and they were quiet as church mice from then on.

  • Thank You TEN CLUB!!

Wife and I scored row dead center CC (about 6th or 7th row). Had a fantastic time.. gotta say, the acoustics for the venue was amazing.

Liam Finn was great (we knew zero of his stuff before we went and really enjoyed his set).

Arc was amazing... the improv song about the East Coast put a smile on our faces.. and Into the Wild stuff sounded fantastic. I am Mine was a great treat.. song brings my wife and I back to our Dublin trip (for reasons too long to go into here), so we were thrilled. I'm One was very cool by the way!

Also, his Manny dig was appreciated by us locals :)

    Thanks for a wonderful night!!

People used to sit down at rock concerts in the 60's and 70's. I've seen videos of The Who where you can see the first 2-3 rows of people, all seated.

That said, solo acoustic shows are not stand-up affairs in seated theatres ... barring encores at times.

I dont mean to offend anyone but for me personally going to shows is an excape from all the crap that goes on in everyday life. So I think that if you pay $80 dollars or whatever a ticket price is you should have the right to stand up, sit down, roll over, whatever you choose to do. I think Pete Townsend said it best once when he said "this is a fucking rock & roll concert not a fucking tea party..."

Im the one is a Who/Townsend tune, the other I beleive is an original.... How do we go about getting the messsage out there to, enjoy the show rather than scream every time between song, do they think hes going to change his set list?

The song is called I'm One, not I'm the One, it's on the Quadrophenia LP, it's the first song on side two of the LP. Pearl Jam has played it a handful of times, I was LUCKY enough to see them play it in St. Louis in 1994, I can't remember if it was the 1st night or the 2nd night, I just know it has only been played a few times.

As far as the four "meatheads" goes, I was sitting right behind them, and talking to them. Were they cock suckers? Yes. Was it wrong for them to be standing? No!! Since when do any of you decide when to stand and when not too??? As a matter of fact, when everyone in the Opera House was standing for the last couple of songs, they won their night long battle. My issue with them, as I told them, was the yelling at everyone. If they stood there and enjoyed the show, and not responded to the complainers, they would have been much better off. They did completely ruin Society for anyone in the area. It was a great show to close your eyes too, and just take it in. sorry for the ramble

Ed was trying his damnedest to get into the 'zone' for each particular song.

I enjoyed every second of his performance despite the screaming douchebag next to me.

@ the first false start for "Guaranteed" he yelled,

"That's why you didn't get the Oscar for it!"

    pain

This bothers me to no end that someone would say that. Mostly because tickets are so hard to come by for these shows and they get wasted on people like this. To think that somebody who really cares about the music may have missed out on the show and a douche like this (who obviously doesn't care) gets tickets makes me pretty peeved.

Because when the performer asks everyone to have a seat, maybe everybody should have a seat.

He didn't have a problem with it during the encore (first night) when everyone stood, but it was pretty clear, during both nights, that he preferred the crowd sitting.

  • after reading some of these as how some people behaved i feel a little guilty about having such an amazing night

my friend and i drove up from the philadelphia area and with some traffic it took us a little over 7 hours but, it was well worth it.

i went and got my tickets as the ticket window opened and got 8 th row - between this and winning the lottery at Camden II my 10c number has been awesome - my friend convinced me to go in for Liam Finn and man am i grateful, the man is ridiculously talented and is a fantastic drummer - the double-loop of guitar and drums at the end was amazing

and then eddie came out and flat out rocked the opera house - the guy is great, the songs were nailed for the most part (guaranteed the first time was a struggle but he showed perseverance and got through it later) - i thought the songs from "into the wild" were great, the pearl jam songs were perfect, and "I'm One" by 'The Who' was my highlight of the night - eddie was also hilarious with his imitation of manny, the making fun of the people yelling, and the difference between a uke and a mandolin

all in all i loved this show and cant wait for whatever he/them have in store for us
9/1/2000 - E-Centre, Camden, 'Sometimes' started and I was hooked...

i taped and know of one other source for night 1...and night 2..i know of 2 sources..one is rumored to be a little "botched" though.

nights 1 and 2 were done on a sheops (sp) rig and the taper said it is great.

Mine sounds decent and I'll put out there if nothing pops up..i just dont' have the methods to upload as my PC BLOWS

    Rest assured..it has been taped.

i actually went to the august 2nd show, it was amazing! eddies voice sounded exactly as it did on every recorded song. I loved his jokes, and when he played i am mine. Also, when liam finn and him played hard sun at the end, i think the crowd together was a whole. I also loved when he played rise and elderly women behind the counter in a small town. That was great! Eddie vedder is awesome! i love him!!

also, the crowd was less yelly, but there was still some shouting haha eddie said a funny joke./...

" i dont know what it is in this opera house, it must be the science or something, but you all in the crowd hear people screaming things, but when the screaming comes to me on stage all i hear is im and idiot"
    haha it was hilarious!

and then this guy in the crowd screams " im and idiot" near the end of the show
and eddie says " see there it is!"
    hahahaha it was hilarious
