Let's see 36 hours no mention from the President of the Nazi white supremacist group's violence. On the the other hand in less than an hour he calls out the CEO of Merck an African American businessman.

What do think those white supremacists are thinking or feeling today?

For me I think they're saying the MFing President has our backs.....high fives.

Any comment from Ben Carson regarding Charlottesville? Can someone go wake him up and ask him what is like working for a racist, white nationalist? Please.

I know you would prefer to have a different President but now you've gone from disagreeing with President Trump to he's a white nationalist?
    Isn't it obvious?

Ok.  So if someone disagrees with your stance what do you consider them.

PJFan, Trumpito is a fucking moron. The shouts should get louder.  He encouraged that reckless racist behavior (in addition to every other good goddamned thing he's done incompetently since he was sworn in) and now he's up to his shriveled Titleists in it.

BTW, and this is the first and last time I'll address it, (Kat cut me a little slack), no one gives a shit what you think.

    Stop defending him.

I don't recall any of these progressive organizations protesting dapl? nor do I remember much coverage of the dapl protests on my cable TV boxes? hmmm?

I wonder who funds all these progressive organizations?

Democracy for America, Working Families Party, Resist Here, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, OurRevolution, People's Action, Courage Campaign, #AllOfUs, United We Dream, MoveOn.org, Pantsuit Nation, Town Hall Project, iAmerica, #MarchForTruth, UltraViolet, IfNotNow, People Power, CREDO, Center for American Progress Action Fund, Brand New Congress, SEIU, CODEPINK, Peoples Climate Movement, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, CPD Action, Stand Up America, Emerge America, National Domestic Workers Alliance, Moms Rising, RISE Stronger, Democracy Spring, FIRM, Demos, Sunrise Movement, Spread The Vote, Stand.earth, Our Climate, People For the American Way, Food & Water Watch, NextGen America, Action Together Network, New Leaders Council, Run for Something, Corporate Accountability International, Moms Demand Action
Corporations are threatened by losing money, and are encouraged by potential profit - so they work to act in ways which produce profit, like working via lobbyists to not taint their reputation, yet curry favour with members of government.

Lobbyists are simple: they're threatened by policies which lose their employers money, and are encouraged by policies which gain their employers money - so they influence until their employers are supported according to their intended goals.

Members of government are threatened by lack of public support (necessary to win votes) and lack of corporate support (necessary to profit), and are encouraged by potential profit.

You have a cycle which exists because America's population is proud/naive/uneducated/oblivious (pick any) enough that the threat of lack of public support can be subdued by simply lying and hiding self-serving actions which far favour corporate support over public support, since the public can be fooled, and corporate favour yields greater compensation. How do you break this cycle, when the only threat is minuscule due to a people who have taught the powers that be, that they do not need to consider them?

The more I think about this, the more precarious and finite the American empire seems to be.
Agree with everything except I think you may be overstating the public support needed by members of govt. Ignoring gerrymandering for the moment, govt members only need 25% support (if that) to be elected or re-elected, sometimes 0% when they run unopposed.

Anyway, so what can be done about this? We know its impossible to take money out of politics, never happening (we cant take money out of concert tickets let alone politics). If you cant take money out of the equation its likely you cant take out lobbyists either.
Would you agree that next best is to educate on what goes on behind the scenes? Shouldn't we know who the Soros's and Koch's are and what they are up to? All things being equal its safe to say if you're on the same side as Soros or Koch, you probably should reconsider your position.
Shouldn't those that support the groups I listed in another post know what they are supporting, counter-protesting and protesting?
What is the goal? to raise awareness that white supremacists are racist?
Well were standing up to whats right... well where were you standing as we dropped (and continue to) drop 100,000 bombs on brown people in other countries, where are you standing when while residents of Michigan still have poisonous water, did you stand against pipelines and fracking, etc etc.
Im not saying people shouldnt protest or counter-protest, Im saying they should know who they are standing with when they do.
They arent protesting for change they protesting awareness (the womens march) and they are conveniently being used as photo-ops for political agenda.

There is a reason for that: the recent incident is not up for discussion. Nazis and nazi supporters do not have a voice and never should have a voice.

    Freedom of speech, yes.
Freedom to intimidate?  Not really covered by the 1st amendment.
    Smells like terrorism.

Any bets on whether or not the President will call the white supremacist group's and the violence from Saturday?

Well the President is human right, that said I think he will call them out if ONLY, Half ass and Half hearted that's his style. If he doesn't call them out in ANY WAY that will certainly be the last time I'll call him President.

You're missing the point TB.  Who is supporting Nazis on here?  No one.  There are people on here that perceive others that do and shout at them and say their opinions and thoughts don't count. As I said Nazis and their supporters should never have a voice but just to be a normal guy and get labelled as one because I'm not going around calling everyone a Nazi is crazy.

Austria - strictly prohibits the public display and/or proliferation of all insignia/symbols, emblems, uniforms (full or partial), flags, etc., clearly associated with the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP, commonly known as the Nazi Party).

Canada - provides law enforcement agencies with broad scope to intervene if such flags are used to communicate hatred in a public place.

Cyprus - allows for the prosecution of anyone who expresses an idea (in public, using almost any medium including flags) which insults another person's race, religion or ethnicity.

Czech Republic - the police may cancel such events only once it becomes clear that protesters are inciting hate, which is deemed illegal in the Czech Republic.

France - it is illegal to display Nazi flags, uniforms and insignia in public, unless for the purpose of a historical film, show or spectacle.

Germany - strictly prohibits public display of Nazi symbols, such as the swastika and the SS logo, unless it is for historical purposes.

Hungary - the Criminal Code of Hungary regulates the "use of symbols of totalitarianism", including the swastika, the insignia of the SS, the arrow cross, the hammer and sickle, and the five-pointed red star.

Trumpito walking out of the room at the end of Saturday's Charlottesville/VA statement while ignoring reporters questions about the Alt-Right and White Nationalists, and his deafening silence yesterday, and now his statements today should realistically sink this presidency.

If the fucking North Korean missile launch doesn't distract us.  You know the one they said they were going to do tomorrow, on August 15th.

Here is what I was referring to in a post yesterday about "radical Islamic terror" and hypocrisy.
Trump is famous for asking Obama and whoever else, to condemn radical islamic terror(ism), Im para-phasing, how can you defeat it if you cant even say it. Trump campaigned on that phrase, saying it over and over. How stupid is it to think that saying radical islamic terror will somehow help solve it? Terrorists with their ears to Obama are suddently going to stop plowing into crowds and blowing up nightclubs if/when Obama says the words "radical islamic terror".
Since charlottesville, everyone and their brother wants Trump to condemn specifically Nazis and the KKK because Im guessing by specifically saying KKK and Nazi Trump will suddenly rip the hate from there hearts and minds and they will trade in their Nazi flags for rainbow ones. It completely stupid on all sides. Its this a form of symptom blaming and not problem solving.
I dont know how to stop racism, you cant ignore but you cant suppress their speech either.

Is racism all of a sudden a threat to our democracy? Should we take to the streets to raise awareness that white supremacists are racist? Should we protest that our president didnt condemn violence enough, by mentioning Nazis and the KKK?

Actually you are the one missing the point.

The emboldened nazis strutted their stuff on full display. They even killed someone.

The concerned citizens of the US expected their country's leader to, at a minimum, speak to their vile nature (let alone mobilize against them). But, in typical fashion, Trump failed again: speaking vaguely to violence and essentially that both sides need to get along.

There is no 'both sides' here. There is one side that is good and there is one side that is evil. Trump couldn't speak against the 'evil' side because that side made up a decent percentage of his 'base'. That is scary... when the leader of the US is indebted to the nazis for their support of him.

Common sense tells us what the limitations are for free speech. When speech is harmful... the brakes need to be applied.

Pedophiles cannot speak to the pleasures of children. They don't get a voice.
Rapists cannot speak to women deserving rape because they wear revealing clothing. They don't get a voice.
Nazis cannot speak to white supremacy because dark people are mud people. They don't get a voice.

    Do you get the point?

I'll lump nazis and racists together (with racists- the 'moderate' or 'mild' nazis- as a much more significant populace).

    40-50 % of his voters.
20-30% of his voters being the moronic variety.
20-30% of his voters being the greedy variety.
