Vista is good. The bugs have been ironed out with the updates that Microsoft supplies. The only small problem I have is the increased security settings that Vista has. Everytime you install something you have to 'give permission'. On the plus side I feel that Vista is more stable than XP

Yeah, see the clincher for me is that...well, hmm i've had macs for nearly 10 years now, and i've never had to take one to get fixed, i've never had to replace one...I just need better recording software which comes with better operating systems, which comes with newer machines. There has never BEEN a bug with Mac in my experience...its software is DEFINITELY pure pwnage on a technical level...... For a musician, wanting to record their own music cheaply, and WELL......PC<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Mac.

a PC suits our household more as it can be upgraded whereas macs are 'disposable' units (bad with a computer programmer here)... plus in the long run a PC would be cheaper as you don't need to buy a whole new system but just keep upgrading..

well, the software is just better. The systems can handle better graphics, and can process more functions at once....ideal for someone whos say exporting, rendering, and recording at the same time...You also get ALOT of free software for these sorts of things on mac
garageband for example....the whole iLife package comes with a few of the operating systems.....and, actually you CAN upgrade a mac....mine for example has been through three OS's..
