    For me, Charlottesville 2013:
    Pendulum
    Release
    In My Tree

I'm also a big fan of Memphis 2014:
    Pendulum
    Wash
    Low Light

I absolutely love Pendulum, so the 2013-2014 shows with the slow builds were perfect to me.
    Those were good too.

This was incredible when it happened. So unexpected. I was stunned when they launched into Long Road.

Agree with comments on that Detroit show, great opening three.  I'll throw Toronto I 2011 opening of Long Road, DTE, Once.  Great start to a show there.

It was the opposite for me in Phoenix 2013. I love Long Road, but was just a tiny bit bummed that I wouldn't be hearing Release. And then, bam! Both of those songs to start were great performances and pretty special. Followed by Lowlight which was good but Ed flubbed the beginning of the 3rd verse.

Honestly nothing beats any of the old school Release into two blazing rockers. The way it builds and ramps up the energy to it's powerful finish just needs something heavy after it. IMO.

I'd happily take the first 3 songs from my first ever show again.

    Finsbury Park 1993:

    Animal
    Go
    Once
    ...followed by Blood
    “Do not postpone happiness”
    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”
    (Tim Rogers)

Wow, that's awesome that they did that there, I had no idea as I've never heard that boot (but will have to now)! That was the same opening to Fenway #1, and was the same 3 I was going to say were the greatest! Long Road is just so unexpected after Release. We had goosebumps and maybe a few tears, just incredible!

Both Worcester shows are really good, but way different.  Another show where Long Road follows Release is LA 1 2013. Pendulum>Release>Long Road. Fantastic opening. I saw Phoenix mentioned and that show is pretty stellar as well.

    Nothingman

Best opener I've seen yet... release and nothingman were literally the 2 songs that I had been dying to hear live... after 6 shows I had not heard either... to hear them back to back brought tears to my eyes... beautiful opening to a fantastic show in St. Paul...

Yep. That was a great one. Wrigley 2 opening set was just fireworks.

The soft start then shifted to high gear until Rearviewmirror closed it. Please drop the Bootlegs today!!!!
