Why is Trump letting all these insurers pull out of ACA?  He should just call them and tell them to stay like he did with Carrier and Ford.  Such weak negotiating skills, bad!

Kunstler's Friday blog really nailed the health care crisis right on the head.  Worth checking out:

I used to hate Costco too, thinking the same thing. But not everything is in bulk, and some stuff that is is still worth it. And sometimes others the bulk is just buying 3 normal sized jars wrapped together, so if you have room in the pantry its worth it.
We caved in and decided it was worth the membership for the dog food alone, best quality at a really good price.
Then we had our first kid and buy pretty much anything kid related (diapers, wipes) and all our detergent there too. No problem buying those in bulk.
Their meat is really good too, I got tired of being grossed out with supermarket steaks and beef, and they have great meat there. It is usually in bulk, but its easily frozen. 83% fat free beef there is cheaper than 70% at the grocery store, you just have to buy 6 lbs at a time.
Dairy is awesome, the 5 lb block of cheese is the literally same price as the 2 lb block at the grocery store, so we just freeze half a block when we buy it.
Lots of random tools or yard supplies that are good deals too. Carry camping gear, summer toys, and tons of other things too than just the giant bag of chips that I used to associate it with.
I thought I'd hate it when we joined about 3 years ago, but I like it more and more. I think they give trial memberships, I think its totally worth giving it a shot.
The precooked bacon is worth the price of membership.

We stick to certain things but I love Costco.  Their $20 bottle of Vodka is like buying a $40 bottle of Grey Goose.  It's from France and I have been told that it is Grey Goose but that isn't verified.  The bottle shape is similar so they might be trying to tell us something.

The meat and seafood is very good.  We tend to buy some "ready to cook" entrees as well from their meat counter.  Their stuffed peppers are awesome.  Mac and cheese isn't bad.

I totally agree about the seasonal stuff.  We bought beach chairs and umbrellas there a few years ago at about half of what was being charged by Amazon for the same shit.

Yes, the Republican plan is an abortion for sure. A late-term abortion, since they've had many years to prepare for this.

According to the republicans, it was alive at conception, even preconception. So, as such, it should be allowed to live.

no they should be forced to carry it to term and bring it to a vote. even though it is going to be stillborn, dead on arrival.

they are going to have to amend it. the freedom caucus won't support it as it is now. they want to make it even crueler if that is possible.

you know what is going to happen? They are going to come up with some bill, pass it, send it back to the house for them to approve, and they are going to make the house members gamble their careers by voting for a bill that is less popular than genital warts. seriously, genital warts are viewed more favorably than this bill.

Ya know, perhaps if they actually focused on CREATING a health care bill instead of just throwing something together so that the ACA is no longer the thing...  That is one of two main purposes they are doing this. 1) To line their pockets and 2) Undo another thing because Obama's name is attached.  Those are the only two things Trumps gives a flying fuck about.  Making himself richer and undoing Obama stuff.

    Fuck Trump.

Warren Buffett Makes The Case For Single-Payer Health Care

"The United States, virtually alone among developed nations without a universal single-payer system, has by far the world’s highest per-person health care costs ― and based on many key criteria, it nonetheless has worse outcomes."

We rank 1st in per-person health care costs in the world ($9,237/person), and 12th in life expectancy. Clearly what we're doing, and have been doing, isn't working. 10 years ago you wouldn't hear me advocating for single-payer, but I'm sick and tired of seeing families bankrupted by medical costs, so seeing friends not seeking treatments because they can't afford them. It is time to experiment with a system that seems to be working in every other developed nation. Are there problems with other nations' health care systems? Sure. Just like we have massive problems here. But we're paying top shelf prices for mediocre coverage as it is.

they had 8 years but they never thought they would be in this position. they ran on repealing something that was popular. they did not think the people would be stupid enough to give them both houses and the presidency. i am willing to bet that they were just paying lip service and never once thought that they would actually have to try to repeal it. that is why we are seeing the shitty bills put forward now.
