Two days later, it still feels like it cannot be true. Thank you for the music, Chris! Rest in peace.

All misty-eyed today. It feels so unreal. Been listening to Black holed sun, will be listening to Jesus Christ pose

Thanks for sharing this. Chris talking about Kurt nearly gutted me. "No one sings like you anymore." Yep. Fuck.

No problems. It's a tv-series Swedish television did called "the history of the hit song" and has a bunch of good episodes. As is proven by this one. Which they re-uploaded.

Took me a few days to finally read this, but I agree. This was a really helpful read and I suggest others read it too. It helped me understand a lot more about the illness.

Heard War Pigs in the car last night and it brought me back to TOTD Philly show. Got home and played the Singles soundtrack for my niece. Got to Birth Ritual and she says that's Chris Cornell, right?

I still can't wrap my head around this. I've tried to listen to his music and just get the biggest lump in my throat I have to turn it off, my wife thinks I need to just let it all out. As this reality starts to set in I feel like I just can't deal with it. So hurt and sad over this news.

from my perspective from the 4th row balcony, I was taken with how pleased Chris seemed to be with the crowds energy and emotion reflected back to him from the first notes...he spoke between each song and was eloquent and reflective on his history with Detroit audiences an thanked us several times for not "letting him down"....the last song they played "slaves and bulldozers' is my absolute favorite and was delivered with ferocity....at songs conclusion both Kim and Chris were pointing their guitars into the amps and creating a musical feedback frenzy that left us speechless (and my ears are still humming a little)...I was awoken Thursday morning by a barrage of texts and feel like I am still dreaming....so freaked out and emotions are all over the board.....praying for some sense to come of this and peace to family, bandmates, friends and fans....know this... that Detroit Rock City will never be same....love and respect....BJ

My wife seems to believe a lot of this doesn't add up. The coroner rules suicide after a few hours? Other celebreties took weeks. Why after
his wife called did it take 45 minutes for his bodyguard to reach him? The same guy who gave him the pills? Why wasn't he near Chris? Why did the hotel not have a key for room access? They state he was found with blood coming from his mouth. How does that happen when it's a hanging? Chris was very tall. How could an excercise band support him? What she's saying does make me question what happened.

Do you just need another "Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain"-controversy in your life or is your wife a flat earther/conspiracy nut?

    I mean... come on...

(I worked at a psychiatric clinic when i was younger, I'v witnessed a person hanging herself with a band from her gym pants.)

People can hang themselves on a doorknob while kneeling down.  You don't have to be dropped from a gallows like in a western.   Coroners can usually establish a manner/cause of death fairly quickly but usually make the final results pending a toxicology report which can take several weeks.

The carabiner is permanently attached to the end of the exercise band, I have loads of them myself, the purpose of the caribiner is to attach the band to a handle to do things like bicep curls, google bodylastics and you will see.  I don't think it would have been in any way out of character for him to have had a set of bands - he's always been in good shape body wise, and these bands are an easy light weight, easy to pack solution to working out on the road.

Yes, I am definitely having a tough time.  I'm still in total shock and disbelief.  It hurts knowing that he isn't on this planet anymore, and that I will never get to see him perform again.

definitely, for me it's been the Temple of the Dog record, I still can't make it through Say Hello, without the lump in my throat & eyes getting wet, I think because it reminds me most of hi heart of gold & sweet soul, & absolute selflessness that relentlessly gave so much to others, the music, and the fans.  He seemed to never stop giving when I look back.

Seattle is turning into a city of ghosts.

What a powerful voice.  To go from metal to a song like Sunshower is amazing.
