    They only seem to need a couple of weeks. Was there time before Matt start the Soundgarden tour?

    I would assume Ed is prepping for his solo tour, having said that the rest of the guys could be laying some demos, and Ed could use his tour time for sound checking some new tunes and laying down some lyrics and ideas.
