Most unorthodox setlist?

Title says it all. Random openers. Rarities. Odd sequencing. Let's hear them.

Holmdel 2003 first set is in chronological order from ten to riot act. Included merkinball in the correct location.
Almost positive there s never been a set like that.

    Two come to mind immediately...

Orpheum, Boston - 04/12/94 - crew wrote the setlist.
Katowice - 06/16/00 - started with a bunch of slow songs before that was the norm.

Found: Soundgarden Hyde Park DVD (Thank you for the gift!)

I love Newcastle 06. Open with Alive, end with full Little Wing and a lot of gems in between. One of my favorite boots from a great tour.

Great recs. I never noticed that about Holmdel (have it and will listen again). Keep em coming. These are awesome. Love the Newcastle show. I always wished Santa Barbara would get a proper release.

    Keep em coming.

    05/13/93 - Slim's Cafe: San Francisco, CA [110m]
    attendance: 900
soundcheck: Daughter instrumental, Why Go, Blood instrumental, Rats and Release guitar warm-ups, Animal instrumental, Animal, Dissident
set: Animal, Go, Even Flow, Blood, Daughter, W.M.A., Dissident, Why Go, Alive, Hard to Imagine, Rearviewmirror, Better Man, Dirty Frank/Rats, Baba O'Riley, Once, Jeremy, (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun)/Porch/(Tearing), Release, Alone, (Dirty Deeds)/Whipping, Leash, Sonic Reducer
notes: This was a secret show was a benefit to assist in legal support for a member of the Surfrider Foundation. PJ is billed as the "David J. Gunn Band" and most of Vs. (plus 'Better Man' and 'Whipping') premier as they have just completed recording the new album. The band even asks for requests at this show. Ed jokes around: "We're accepting any donations of acid that you may have. Just put it in a little envelope with your name on it ... and if we write a great song while we're on it, we'll put your name in the credits." A guitar riff from Van Halen's 'Eruption' is played between 'Why Go' and 'Alive.' 'Alive' is dedicated to Ed's uncle, Freddy Vedder. The transition from 'Dirty Frank' to 'Rats' is very cool sounding.A bit of AC/DC's 'Dirty Deeds' is played.

"What can you expect when you're on top? You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."

    Gorge '05?

It had staples, but the set was littered with rarities and covers.  Almost like it was from the lost dogs tour :)

After 6 Pearl Jam vaults it would be cool if we got an official David J. Gunn band release.

I was going to add Bristow 2003, but you beat me to it. Love your blog, by the way! We got a slow start to that show and the reappearance of Why Go. Ed was in a playful mood and it was just a really fun evening.

Nobody mentioned Missoula 95 yet...  that's a must listen and that setlist is very unconventional.
set: Corduroy, Spin the Black Circle, Last Exit, Tremor Christ, Porch, Glorified G, Daughter/(Star Boy)/(The Real Me), Go, Animal, State of Love and Trust, Improv (I Don’t Know About the Future), Not for You, Jack Irons chant/Immortality, Satan’s Bed, Whipping, Even Flow, W.M.A., Blood
enc: Redemption Song, Yellow Ledbetter, Let My Love Open the Door

This is the finest version of Let My Love Open The Door you will ever hear.  Complete with Ed repeatedly asking somebody on the rail if they are alright.  There is a full version of WMA with jackie boy on the drums.  Porch in the 5 hole... Extended Immortality intro... it's good times.
