Just picked up a decent copy of this posthumous Hendrix, "Crash Landing". I'll listen to anything Jimi ever recorded at least once but this one, interesting even though it may be and maybe even better that some of the other scraped-together material the record companies cashed in on after his death, won't get a lot of regular play on my TT. It's not a bad record really, but pretty much for die-hard fans only.

The one being released for RSD is just as bad I think.brianlux said:Just picked up a decent copy of this posthumous Hendrix, "Crash Landing". Sorry to hear that. I have to admit having ambivalent feeling about the Experience L.L.C. organization. They've put out some very good stuff and they've worked with Jimi's marvelous producer/engineer Eddie Kramer but at the same time, what would Jimi have thought? Really not sure but I'm guessing he would roll over in his grave knowing inferior recording were being pushed. He was a perfectionist when it came to his music. Maybe some of the live recordings. I doubt he would have given the green light to the vast majority of the posthumous output, not even "First Rays of the New Rising Sun" which was unfinished and which most any other artist would be quite happy to achieve! So for me, listening to those posthumous records is a (big time) guilty pleasure. I don't recommend them at all to new fans. The three Experience and one Band of Gypsies records are all one really needs to appreciate Hendrix.mrussel1 said:

I got Crash Landing in the late 70's and i like this album. Really dig Peace In Mississippi. Some interesting versions of some Band Of Gypsys songs (Message To Love & With The Power). But, i agree: it's for a die-hard fan.brianlux said:Just picked up a decent copy of this posthumous Hendrix, "Crash Landing". The best ever live album as far as I'm concerned.

I know I've posted this photo before but every time I see the cover of "Live on Ten Legs" I think of Link Wray's fine album "Link Wray Rumble" from 1974:F Me In The Brain said:The best ever live album as far as I'm concerned.

My 3 year old had his first experience of Record Store Day today
I missed out on the PJ 7" but I'm still pretty happy with this little haul...
My original copy of Decade is still thousands of miles away in the UK so it's very nice to have the new remaster now“Do not postpone happiness”
