Watching the news trickle out about Comey's testimony...so far, it appears there was no evidence of wiretapping at all & they are exploring Russian ties. Just saw a quick review, so don't have exact quotes.

Here's what we've learned so far today:

    1) The FBI director, under oath, says the President of the United States is a liar
    2) The campaign of a sitting president is under investigation for colluding with a foreign power to win the election
    3) The GOP does not care that the house is on fire, but is outraged somebody called the fire department.

Thank you for contacting me about Russia’s efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election. I appreciate having the benefit of your views.

From targeted hacking campaigns to an expansive “fake news” operation, it is obvious that Russia engaged in a sophisticated effort to manipulate the 2016 presidential election. In fact, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence recently released a declassified report which details these activities. You can read the report here.

You may be interested to know that in August, Senator Christopher Coons and I sent a letter urging the Senate’s Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts to hold a hearing to investigate whether existing laws are sufficient to prevent and prosecute efforts by foreign actors to undermine our elections. You can read the letter here.

Lastly, I am pleased to report that Senator Lindsey Graham and I will lead a bipartisan investigation in the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism to learn more about Russian activities and methods used to undermine our election and those in other nations.

Thank you again for taking the time to reach out to me. I hope you will continue to be in touch about any issue of concern to you.

    Sincerely,

    Sheldon Whitehouse
    United States Senator

Very interesting reading. If Trump were briefed, why would he lie about it? Oh, oh. Follow the money, from Russia with love, all the way to impeachment.

If you really care about the Russia/Trump connection, contact your elected representatives directly and press them to investigate. Its untenable for the republicans to deny the overwhelming evidence of connections. It begs to be investigated.

Frankly I think it's obviously way too easy to point out why he is a disaster... so I'm putting it on you, let's see if you can change my mind. Go for it. Sell me on the Trump presidency

When things really get bad, change happens.

It's up to us now to make sure the *change that happens is beneficial for all people.

We (generally) become apathetic under the dems. But perhaps now with our dear leader Trump, we'll put our anger into positive actions, From the ground up, a new day.

So you are arguing that the majority of Americans are worse off today than they were say 30, 40, 50 years ago? I'm just wondering what is the primary driver that you believe requires the burning?

I'm not really sure how that's relevant to my question.. Some of my candidates have won, some have lost.

But I'm curious as to what metric/standard/measure are most concerned about that you think has deteriorated to the point where we need to burn the house down? Is it real wages, poverty, unemployment, education level, life expectancy, mortality rate.. what is it? Because I would argue that by any measure that I can think of, we are better off as a nation today than we were in the 50s, 60, 70s. etc.

Awesome.. Trump is tweeting while watching the hearings.. Doesn't he have anything better to do than watch TV on a Monday afternoon? He is the president.. I would think there was SOMETHING else he could do to be more productive.

To be fair, if my entire presidential administration were on the verge of collapse, I'd probably be watching too.

Because 1) who flies a Confederate flag but a racist? And don't give me this "pride of the south" bullshit. I've never, in my lifetime, met a Confederate flag bearer that wasn't a racist.
And 2) because the same people flying Confederate flags are the first to utter "get over it, you lost." Bit of irony, there, don't ya think?

It's relevant. How someone votes is important, Because it shows more than whatever they may post on a msg forum.

Would you just answer the man's question? It's very simple (and way more relevant than the question you posed back) - what signs are you seeing to suggest that America was a building on fire when Donald Trump came along?
