Check out this stupid looking LaFerrari watch that they sold a few years back for $300,000 ...

I'm not sure I would wear that in public if they gave it to me for free. That looks like a prize you would win at Chuck e Cheese

Continental ContiProContacts are the worst fucking tires ever made. Complete junk on any non dry surface, and about 70% junk on dry. They also get better gas mileage if they're under inflated. How the hell does that make any sense?

What vehicle do you have them on?

I have the Continental Pure Contact Eco Plus on my car and they have been awesome.

I might look into a set of those. Great ratings and they're $25 less per tire than the CTC's. Not that I'd buy the CTC's again.
I have a 2015 Focus. Bought it brand new and they were the OE tires. A year ago this weekend exactly, I couldn't get up my street in half an inch of snow. Only had ~5k miles at the time. This past December I couldn't come to a stop going 5 mph down a short hill in yet another half inch of snow. Luckily it was 6am on a Sunday and there was no traffic bc I had no choice but to run right thru a 3-way intersection. I'd pump the brakes and the tires would just jump all over the place. Two weeks ago in yet another half inch of snow, I couldn't even get out of my parking lot, which is relatively flat. And it's not like I don't know how to drive in snow, I've been doing it every winter for 24 years without incident. And I hydroplane all the time when it rains.
About a month ago my TPMS light went off so I inflated them back up to the recommended 36psi (they were all at 29) and I've been getting about 80-100 miles less on a tank of gas ever since. That's pretty damn significant loss on a 12gal tank! (And I have the 1.0L Ecoboost engine to boot).
I've heard and read good things about many other Continental tire models, but these are just trash. Terrible ratings on Tirerack. Why a car company would put such terrible, unsafe tires on a brand new vehicle leaves me scratching my head. I'm trying to get thru this winter and save up to buy new tires in the fall. I just recently passed 17k miles and just can't fathom buying a new set already, but they render my car unsafe to drive in anything other than dry conditions.

Wow. That's a pretty crappy experience.

I replaced Firestone OEMs with the Continental Pure Contacts and they completely transformed the ride and handling of my car.

    I'd buy them again.

Have you considered getting a snow tires for the winter months and keeping your current tires for summer?

I've tossed the thought around but I don't really have anywhere to store the spares, and I've always gotten around fine on all-seasons.

So my BMW 435i Gran Coupe AWD and its summer tires decided to take the trek up I-65 this weekend to visit family.  5 degrees and blowing snow the entire way.  The snow started to accumulate and the summer tires decided to go sledding.  Did 90 degrees in both directions and got stopped in the middle lane turned sideways. Somehow the traffic lightened up at that moment and gave people behind me enough room to stop.  Drove on the side roads and almost spun out three times and finally ditched the car and had family pick me up for the last 20 miles.   Had all season tires put on the next morning.   For some reason I didn't think they had put summer tires on it.

Lesson:  Don't drive in the snow with summer tires!  #I'mamoron.

    Sweet car.

I have been pulled over 13 times for speeding over the years.  I've been lucky to time them well so I can always defer them and keep them off my points and insurance.   I figured out I essentially pay 2 cents a mile through speeding tickets to go as fast as I want.  I'm good with that (until they start coming in groups).

I had a complimentary software tuning by Revo done 2 months ago (2015 Focus 1.0 ecoboost). My friend at the Ford dealership also knows some of the Revo guys on the side, as he's done a lot of business with various VWs & Audis he's had.  They are testing the Ford software in North America and he got me the hook-up to be a test subject.

HP didn't gain too much, went from 126 to 137.  I didn't even think about it, but I filled up the tank on 87 about 5 miles before I arrived at the place.  They didn't have time to drain and refill, so they just ran the software for an 87 profile.  He said I could bring it back and run a 93 profile and he could probably get me up around 150-155 HP. Obviously, the higher octane, the better gains and performance you'll get.

However, torque was super impressive.  He got it to jump from 145 to 198 lb/ft.  And honestly, that's what I'm really happy with.  I love that low end pull the car has now.  For such a small engine, it'll actually put you back in your seat now.

So with that, I decided not to worry about the 13-18 possible extra horses. That would end up costing me $8-10 more per tank anyway.

Speaking of which, the second best part* is fuel economy has actually improved.  I've been getting around 36.5 mpg where I was getting around 35 before the software upgrade. That's roughly 900 miles or 2.5 tanks in annual savings.

(*The best part is that this was about a $600-700 service done at no cost to me.)

I'm wondering what they did to your computer to increase the torque without putting new parts in it?

Fuel management I get but that only goes so far without changing ports, pistons and the like.

From what I understand, the engine is already mapped out to get that much, it's just restricted by the software before it leaves the factory. Most likely they increased the compression ratio and possibly sped up the valve timing to create a faster fuel-air mixture. Maybe, I don't really know.  I know for certain the gear ratios were adjusted.  I have to downshift at higher rpm than I used to.

That's my understanding too.  I would think it would be setup that way to minimize wear and tear on the engine and parts, otherwise why limit performance?  I would do it on my car but it would void the warranty.

The focus must have an electronic transmission then?

I don't know, really.  I'm honestly not sure how the software works or what coding adjustments they make with it.  Can a manual transmission be electronically controlled?

As for the warranty, the Magnusson-Moss Act of 1975 prevents any retail manufacturer from disclaiming or limiting warranties. If a product has a warranty, the manufacturer must offer the consumer a resolution on any issue that arises.  If the engine blows, they have to replace it. They can skate around it some by charging labor (as the act covers parts & components, but does not cover service), but they can't charge me for an engine.

I can also have the Revo guys flash it back to stock at any time.
