I'm pretty sure 311 hasn't changed their line-up in the 25 or so years that they've been around.

This one is all mine.... Absolutely the band RUSH has had a member change. Percussionist Neil Peart joined the band for their second album and every album since while writing the lyrics for the band. The original lineup was Geddy Lee lead vocals, Alex Lifeson lead guitar, John Rutsey on drums. John disliked touring due to his health and dealing with his then diabetes. He recently passed away due to that disease.....I have some images of him in my
Love and Despise of the Band RUSH thread.

They had a different Drummer and guitarist. But it was before recording a real LP. George Martin, their producer, was always considered the fifth beatle.

Or some say billy Preston was the fifth beatle.
    That I hadn't heard.
When they were starting out in Hamburg, they were a 5 piece band with bass guitarist Stu Sutcliffe. After he left the band they remained a quartet. He's the one I've most often heard called the fifth Beatle.
oh yeah. he's the only non beatle to get credit for a song (get back). In fact, lennon wanted him to officially join the band but everyone said no.

Good album. Nobody can match Peart but Rutsey wasn't bad himself especially on Working Man.

Well, I loved Billy Preston. Great songwriter. Died much too young.

Surprised no one has mentioned Green Day

39/Smooth is the debut studio album by American punk rock band Green Day, released on April 13, 1990 by Lookout Records on vinyl (black and green) and cassette. It is the band's only studio album to feature original drummer John Kiffmeyer.

What if a band added a member, but all of the original members are still present? Guster, for example.

Green Day did this as well. their touring guitarist was an official member before he was demoted again to just touring member.

forgot that tre cool wasn't their original drummer. although i'll admit i didn't really get into Green Day until Dookie came out.

I say Green Day should be included in this just IMO.

Was gonna say Offspring but apparently they changed drummers in the mid 2000's.

Does R.E.M. count? They recorded and toured post Bill Berry but never invited anyone in to take his place. So, technically, they remained the same.

    The Prodigy

They've added some live members to their performance but they never played on an actual album.  Only members that left the band were dancers but they didn't contribute musically.  just appeared in videos and onstage.  Pretty much have had the same line-up since 1990

    Good one!

Another:  The Juliana Hatfield Three.  True, the time they were actually together has been relatively short, but their career as a group did span a period of 22 years.
