Boom has been a big part of the touring band for almost 15 years. One of the reasons (all the posts I've read is failing to mention) PJ is getting inducted is they are one of the best touring bands of all time. Lets give Boom a little credit tooMerkin Baller said:Poor Boom

Maybe try to give it another thought if you're too dense to understand.Merkin Baller said:
I can't understand why people are making such a stink over a drummer who's not much better than average.drakeheuer14 said:I don't understand why people are so against him getting some kind of recognition at least. Its as if he did something to personally attack you and you are holding a grudge. We don't want him to tour again, just be acknowledged. How dare we!

100% spot on - all this nonsense about 'do the right thing' is only the opinion of people who think they know what the 'right thing' is.on2legs said:At the end of the day... it's the band decision to invite him as a guest. And I'm fine with what they decide is best. We have no idea of the real back story. People accept conjecture as fact and assume a lot. The truth is we don't know what really happened. So we should leave it up to the 5 guys in the band to decide. They have the only opinion that counts.
No one here knows what went on behind the scenes, so if the guys in the band want to have him there as a guest, great. If not, great.
Enough of this 'do the right thing'."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
Haha.Hobbes said:Perhaps Dave A. and Ed could hug it out onstage. Would only be slightly more awkward than that Dave Grohl/Courtney Love embrace.
Is this an Al Gore reference?Hobbes said:I've got a shovel. We could bury the lock-box, like a time capsule, but then forget where we buried it.

Vs was the first PJ album i ever owned. I thought PJ was kind of crappy before this album. I also didn't think much of drummers in those days, but now I feel like a drummer makes all the difference between good albums and great albums.0

Definitely not an exact science at the Hall: look at the Eagles. If I am not mistaken, all of the current and past members were inducted at the time.
If for whatever reasons it's just not possible to include both Dave A. and Jack, perhaps the most dignified way would be if the band did a Dylan with the Nobel Prize and just said a quick thank you in the press including thanking / acknowledging Dave A. and Jack and just don't bother showing up at the ceremony, This would be more consistent with their art shouldn't be categorised and put into a competition, which it somehow is with the RnRHOF (who's in, who's nominated many times and aren't in, who's not nominated, is hip hop RnR, etc.) and I think gives a nice closure to the issue of who gets in and who doesn't.
If they decide to collect their honours in April (they can do whatever they want), then I wait in hope that the guys find it in their good conscience to do something to make it happen so that both Dave A. and Jack are invited and honoured as equals with the rest of the guys... just like the Eagles.0 -
I think you have the wrong perception of the band.stratmad said:Definitely not an exact science at the Hall: look at the Eagles. If I am not mistaken, all of the current and past members were inducted at the time.

Eddie Vedder has inducted a couple of bands and doesn't seem to have anything against the Hall of fame.
Not a chance they won't be there."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
I may be dense, but not so dense as to think that Dave A was the 'driving force' of the band that has thrived for over two decades since his departure.Spiritual_Chaos said:
